Dating Around​: Is Deva Mahal Still with Girlfriend Maria Sandhammer?

Many fans would agree that the third episode of Dating Around is one of the most enjoyable ones. We saw a fierce creative musician, Deva, looking to date both men and women. The singer was enchanted by her date Maria Sandhammer, and eventually, they became the most promising couple of the entire series. So, are they still dating? Fingers crossed!

Deva moved to New Orleans from New York to pursue her career in music. She is introduced by her friends as someone who loves deeply but has got her heart broken a couple of times. So, she has put up walls around her, which doesn’t let her express her feelings openly. Still, she’s hopeful and goes on blind dates with Toure, Rueben, Maria, True, and Brooke. She displayed an instant spark with fellow artist Maria. The two discussed families, passions, and were seen kissing each other a number of times. So, it was evident that Deva would choose Maria for her second date. The next day, we watch the pair riding bicycles on the beautiful streets of New Orleans, suggesting that they are a thing now.

The show was shot in October last year and looks like things have changed a little since then. Maria and Deva follow each other on social media – they must still be in touch and possibly good friends after the show. They like each other’s posts, but we don’t see them leaving any comments. It indicates that they are just friends and not in a committed relationship right now (because lovers tend to comment, right?) When a fan asked Maria on her IG if she’s still with Deva, she responded, “That is THE question.” It looks like the couple is intentionally creating ambiguity about their relationship, or the show’s producers have advised it. Well, if they were in a relationship, they could have confirmed that by posting a picture together. Maybe the duo doesn’t want to reveal their relationship status just yet or have some contractual obligations with the streaming platform. Although it’s a good sign that nothing on their profile suggests that they are dating other people. In a nutshell, we think that the couple is not dating, but we have to be hopeful.

On the other hand, Brandon and Justin couldn’t work it out beyond their second date. As planned, Justin moved to Austin, and Brandon is now seeing someone very handsome. He has shared a picture of his new boyfriend on his IG, which clears up that any contractual obligations do not bind the cast members to reveal their relationship status.
