It’s been almost ten years since the creative web series, Dating Rules from My Future Self, which is about a woman who gets dating advice from her future self from ten years in the future, and aired through Alloy. The web series featured a talented and interesting group of actors that have gone on taking part in a plethora of projects.

10 The Web Series Featured Two Actors From The Vampire Diaries

Viewers of Dating Rules From My Future Self are sure to automatically recognize Candice King (Chloe) from her popular role as Caroline Forbes on  The Vampire Diaries. But many might not realize that Dave from season one of the web series was also on  The Vampire Diaries, playing Mason Lockwood.

In the web series, they appear on two separate seasons but in The Vampire Diaries they performed together quite a bit. In fact, Caroline went head to head with Mason on The Vampire Diaries, where she proved she could hold her own against him.

9 Candice King Is Married to Joe King of The Fray

Viewers of the web series might have realized that Candice King used to be Candice Accola. When the show came out in 2012, Candice had been dating Joe King (lead singer of the band The Fray) for about a year and he proposed to her in 2013, which would have been while she was filming season 2 of the web series.

They have been married now for 6 years. They also have a daughter together and Candice is stepmother to Joe’s children from a previous marriage.

If you ever catch yourself watching Hannah Montana & Miley Cyrus: Best of Both Worlds Concert, you might see a familiar face on stage with Miley. King toured with Miley Cyrus during her tour in 2008, providing background vocals for the pop singer.

Currently, Appleby can often be found working behind the camera directing episodes for works like the CW’s Roswell, New Mexico, and has directed for shows like Lifetime’s Unreal (which she also starred in) and even directed an episode of Pretty Little Liars: The Perfectionists.

But her first time working on the other side of the camera was for Dating Rules from My Future Self. As stated in an interview with Collider, Appleby was behind all of the casting and hiring and was essential in the writing process. She also helped with set design, editing, and directing on a few episodes.

6 Mircea Monroe Is A Certified Scuba Diver

Mircea Monroe plays the fun-loving best friend Amanda on the show but the actress in real life seems likes she knows how to have fun as well. According to her bio on IMDb, she’s a registered Scuba diver.

In an interview she did with Jetsetextra.com the actress reveals how much of a jet-setter she is, apparently having traveled to places like Budapest, Spain, and England. She also seems to have a fondness for good food and the beaches of Fiji. Perhaps that’s where the actress decided to get certified as a scuba diver, to discover the beautiful waters.

5 Alison Becker And Toby Meuli Got Their Start At The Same Place At Broad City

Alison Becker and Toby Meuli play the friends of the lead characters in season one and two respectively but they both share their start with many other great comedians and their skits that turned into shows. Both actors started out as a member of the Upright Citizens Brigade, an improv and sketch comedy troupe that helped launch the careers of comedians such as Ilana Glazer and Abbi Jacobson.

In 2011, Taylor Kinney was in Lady Gaga’s video for “You and I,” playing the singer’s love interest. Reality mimicked fiction as the two fell for each other in real life, dating for 5 years, and became engaged in 2015, but sadly the couple split in 2016.

But this means that while Kinney was playing the love interest, Dave, on the web series, he was going home to Lady Gaga every night.

3 Bryce Johnson Was Filming Pretty Little Liars At The Same Time

Many might recognize Lucy’s lackluster finance in this web show as the sleazy cop from Rosewood P. D. on Pretty Little Liars. Bryce was actually filming both shows at about the same time, as he appeared on episodes of both shows in 2012 during PLL’s second and third seasons.

Fans of PLL will recall that Wilden had a huge role in season these seasons aiding A in her schemes, particularly during the Halloween train episode, “This Is A Dark Ride.”

2 Leah Rachel Created the Netflix Show Chambers

Leah Rachel plays Chloe’s best friend, Olivia Gold on season two of the web series and she is also credited as a writer for the series finale. This episode was a well-written conclusion to the story so it’s no surprise that the actress went on to become more well-known for her writing.

Although she still acts, Rachel is most known for her creation Chambers, an eerie horror genre show she created and wrote for Netflix. The show follows the life of a teenage girl who becomes haunted by the mysteries that surrounded the girl whose heart she received in a transplant. The show has been raved about for its inclusive cast, with its Native American lead in a story heavily featuring the culture of the Native American culture.

1 Toby Meuli Was A Diva In A Snickers Commercial

Most are sure to remember the commercials in question for the candy brand, Snickers where a popular known “Diva” in the showbusiness is shown having a meltdown because they are hungry, transforming into a regular guy or girl once their annoyed friends give them Snickers.

One of the more popular of these commercials features the lovely Aretha Franklin playing the diva. Fans of the web series will recognize Chloe’s good friend, Scott, in the part of the satisfied guy eating the Snickers. Although Toby Meuli has gone on to play many big parts and is recognized often for his roles in Bones and The Social Network, he is still often remembered for his part in this ongoing bit from Snickers.
