Dave Bautista may have earned his fame inside the wrestling ring, but he is quickly carving out a very impressive career as an actor. He has been part of some huge franchises and is far more than just a typical action star, which many expect from his build.

Bautista is an incredibly funny actor who really brings a lot of laughs when he is given the opportunity, showcasing a wide range of skills so far in his career. But what are his 10 best movies so far? Let’s look at the top 10 so far according to IMDb scores.

10 Stuber – 6.2 (2019)

Stuber is literally a movie all based around the popular Uber taxi service app, taking something that everyone knows and utilizes, and giving it a hilarious twist. Dave Bautista works as a detective in this film, and he ends up using his Uber drive, Stu Prasad, to help him catch a major drug kingpin.

Stu is someone who is obsessed with Uber and making sure he has the perfect five-star rating, which is why he is willing to go the extra mile for his customers. It’s a hilarious movie that features some brilliant comedy with this end up being an unexpected buddy cop style film.

9 My Spy – 6.3 (2020)

My Spy is Dave Bautista’s latest movie which saw him team up with Amazon Prime to create a fun action-comedy. Much like Stuber, it showcases Dave Bautista’s comedy blended with fantastic action as he works as a CIA agent who has to protect a young girl.

However, she has plenty of sass and confidence to cope with any sort of trouble, and she watches his back and just as good as he does with her. The two of them together are a unique pair, but they are incredibly likable and charming, with their chemistry really helping to make this movie stand out.

8 Riddick – 6.4 (2013)

Dave Bautista wasn’t the major star he now is when he took on the movie Riddick, playing the character of Diaz. He was part of the supporting cast for this film, but he certainly did well with every scene he was involved in, helping to make this a gripping action film.

However, Riddick really is Vin Diesel’s project as he takes on the lead role who has to battle against aliens. It’s a good action film with plenty going on, but it isn’t one that everyone would immediately associate with Bautista.

7 Master Z: The Ip Man Legacy – 6.5 (2018)

Much like Riddick, Master Z: The Ip Man Legacy is a film that fans don’t associate with Dave Bautista straight away, however, it really is a hidden gem from his filmography. The film has some incredible martial arts scenes that really make the movie enjoyable to watch.

Bautista himself plays Owen in this movie, who happens to be a major drug dealer and a huge presence in the film as someone who does not want to be messed with.

6 Spectre – 6.8 (2015)

Speaking of action and fight scenes, that is the exact reason Dave Bautista was the perfect person to play Mr. Hinx, who was the henchman and muscle that James Bond had to deal with throughout Spectre. While he wasn’t the main villain, Bautista was certainly one of the most engaging characters, even though he actually only had one line of dialogue.

He was a legitimate threat to Bond, and their fight scenes, particularly on the train, were absolutely fantastic. It’s a shame that more wasn’t built around Bautista’s character because overall, this was, unfortunately, one of the weaker Bond movies.

5 Guardians Of The Galaxy Vol. 2 – 7.6 (2017)

Dave Bautista’s role as Drax in the MCU has really been a pivotal moment for his acting career, taking him to the next level in terms of popularity. He is someone known around the world now thanks to that role, and Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 really allowed him to expand on the character.

All of the members of the group were given more time to flesh out their backstories and build on their friendships, with Drax and Mantis forming a great bond throughout this film. They provided a lot of comedic moments for the film, with Drax and his dry humor really helping the film.

4 Guardians Of The Galaxy – 8.0 (2014)

When it comes to the two movies specifically focusing on the Guardians of the Galaxy group, there’s no doubt the original is the stronger of the two. Firstly, everything about this was fresh with the comedic elements and the use of music throughout the movie, which are things that the sequel then followed up with.

The story here was much stronger and more engaging and Drax himself was a big part of that, with the history that Thanos has with his family playing a key part in things. Marvel got the perfect balance of humor and physicality in this film which made it such an entertaining film.

3 Blade Runner 2049 – 8.0 (2017)

Taking the role of Sapper Morton, Dave Bautista was part of a star-studded cast that created Blade Runner 2049, which was a fantastic movie. He joined Harrison Ford and Ryan Gosling for the highly anticipated sequel and its one that didn’t disappoint.

His character ends up being ‘retired’ fairly early in the movie, but his presence is certainly a welcome one. It’s a high octane film with a lot going on that doesn’t slow down in delivering fantastic action and equally intense dialogue.

2 Avengers: Infinity War – 8.4 (2018)

Avengers: Infinity War was the first time that the Guardians of the Galaxy characters crossed over and joined forces with The Avengers, which created an amazing moment for MCU fans. They were part of the group that battled with Thanos first, having a real chance of taking the glove from him.

Ultimately, Star-Lord costs them that chance, and Drax is one of many characters who turn to dust due to the snap. It’s a fantastic film overall though, one which sees the bad guy actually win and reach his goal, which is what made the film so compelling.

1 Avengers: Endgame – 8.4 (2019)

Of course, if Dave Bautista was part of Avengers: Infinity War, he was always going to be part of Avengers: Endgame. While his role is smaller in this, he is still one of the featured superheroes, and seeing him join forces with every hero in the MCU is incredibly cool during the final battle.

These movies are more centered around the major Avengers characters, just because of the time travel elements, and with Drax being part of the snap, he wasn’t needed quite as much in this. However, this was the end of a monumental journey when it came to the MCU, the likes of which will never be seen again.
