With DC Extended Universe picking up the pace, set to release five feature films in 2022 alone, it’s a good time to start brainstorming for what could come in the future. The Teen Titans are one of the franchise’s most beloved teams, and it’d be a mistake to not include them at some point.

Though some of these characters have already appeared in the DCEU, here are 10 characters audiences would like to see in a Teen Titans film, and a fan-cast for who to play them.

Starfire – Alexandra Shipp

Since the Fox X-Men franchise has ended, young and talented actress Alexandra Shipp is in need of a new superhero role. After coming off a wonderful performance in Tick, Tick… Boom!, Shipp has risen in popularity.

Shipp’s performance as Storm allowed her to put on a very stoic display of heroism, while playing a character with immense power. She would likely play a similar role as Starfire, as a matriarchal character in the young Titans team.

Robin – Dylan O’Brien

Almost no one has had their name thrown around more than Dylan O’Brien in the DC movie Dick Grayson sweepstakes. He’s the perfect fit for a Robin transitioning into his Nightwing apparel, similar to the portrayal on HBO Max’s Titans.

Fans have seen the athleticism from O’Brien in The Maze Runner trilogy that would be required to play the Teen Titans’ leader. He also has the ability to portray romantic chemistry, so his on screen relationship with Starfire could be done best. Nightwing and Starfire share one of the best relationships in the Teen Titans lore.

Cyborg – Ray Fisher

Ray Fisher did an excellent job in Zack Snyder’s Justice League, making Cyborg arguably the best Justice League character in the DCEU, but unfortunately there’s been no news to bring him back in a future project. If the Justice League films are ultimately discontinued, a Teen Titans project could be the perfect way to bring back Fisher.

The project would likely take a more lighthearted approach, and Fisher would be able to test his comedic capabilities. Fans of the actor know he’s funny, so it’s not unlikely this could carry over into his film work.

Beast Boy – Finn Wolfhard

It seems easy to cast Stranger Things’ younger actors in every production with teenaged characters, but that’s because the show features such a fine cast of young actors. Finn Wolfhard captures the comedic the goofy behavior needed for Beast Boy far too well, and would hit it out of the park in this role.

Beast Boy is an extremely popular character, especially among fans who grew up watching the Teen Titans show, so it would be great to cast a beloved actor to embody him in a film. Beast Boy would be essential in any film, as his powers alone would be a great reason to see a Teen Titans film.

Raven – Millie Bobby Brown

In the same sense that Wolfhard fits the Beast Boy character well, Millie Bobby Brown seems like a fantastic fit for the more troubled, Raven. Not to mention their on screen chemistry from Stranger Things would fit well for Teen Titans, especially given that the two would likely become a love interest for each other.

Brown’s performance as Eleven wouldn’t be too far off from what would be expected of her as Raven, but if the film decided to use Trigon as a villain, she may get to test her acting chops in their dynamic.

Miss Martian – Vanessa Morgan

Vanessa Morgan, known best for Riverdale or the second season of The Shannara Chronicles, could be a great fit for the Martian Manhunter’s cousin, Miss Martian. Fans have seen Harry Lennix briefly as the former in Zack Snyder’s Justice League and fans are hoping for a way for him to return to the Universe. Perhaps a supporting role for his niece could be the way.

Vanessa Morgan has the on screen maturity to play an older (to earth) version of Miss Martian, as well as the lightheartedness to play a younger version.

Aqualad – Shameik Moore

Shameik Moore’s voice acting as Miles Morales in Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse shows that he understands the tone of playing a light hearted, young hero. Moore also has the capabilities to play a more serious, team leader role, similar to Kaldur’ahm in Young Justice.

The character could appear in a Teen Titans film, as well as a future Aquaman sequel. If the films wanted to follow the route of the comics, Shameik could eventually become the DCEU’s Aquaman, if Jason Momoa ever decided to step down in the role.

Bumblebee – Keke Palmer

Karen Beecher/Bumbleebee is one of the smartest characters in the DC Universe, and also one of the most strong willed. Keke Palmer, who was seen in Hustlers and will be in Jordan Peele’s Nope later this year. Bumblebee is a great teammate, and is often able to add some humor to the Titan’s roster.

It’s likely fans wouldn’t see Bumblebee in the first Teen Titans movie, but maybe in future sequels they would decide to expand the roster to some of the less frequent members of the team.

Kid Flash – Wyatt Oleff

Wyatt Oleff, who audiences might recognize from the It franchise, has the perfect look for Wally West in a future Teen Titans film. Like with Aqualad, an appearance alongside Ezra Miller could be exciting if The Flash ends up with a sequel.

Oleff’s goofy personality and messy hair would make him perfect for the fast paced, impatient Wally fans are used to from the comics and Young Justice. Oleff also appeared as a young version of Starlord in both Guardians of the Galaxy films.

Deathstroke – Joe Manganiello

Another character who’s already made an appearance in the DCEU, but sadly has no continuation plan, is Joe Manganiello. A solid adaptation of Deathstroke is a staple of any Teen Titans production, and Manganiello fits perfectly.

Deathstroke was one of the most likeable villains in the Teen Titans cartoon, while going by the name of Slade. He was also recently portrayed by Esai Morales in HBO Max’s Titans, and by Manu Bennett in the Arrowverse. Mangianiello has a similar look and on screen presence to these actors, so it’d be exciting to see what he brings to the character.

Arsenal – Ansel Elgort

Fans loved Colton Haynes as Roy Harper on Arrow, but since his run has ended, it’s time for a new actor to take on the role. Fresh off the great success of being in Steven Spielberg’s West Side Story, Ansel Elgort still hasn’t accepted any superhero roles.

Elgort is 27, and could be getting to the age where he’s too old for a Teen Titans character, but Arsenal is often portrayed as older than the other sidekicks. He could play this role in a Teen Titans film, or in a Green Arrow film, if DC ever planned to build up that franchise in the movies.
