The smash hit DCeased comic has finally come to an end, which means it’s time for the entire DC horror series to be collected in one graphic novel format. Set to arrive later this month, what better way to celebrate Tom Taylor and Trevor Hairsine’s horror epic than by asking the question, ‘what would DCeased look like if it was actually a 1990s era, straight-to-video, B-movie zombie shlock-fest?’ The answer: as beautiful as its undead are horrifying.

Fans knew early on that DCeased would be a satisfying and thrilling horror story, but it’s safe to say nobody expected it to perform as well as it has. Almost instantly, DCeased became the best-selling comic on store shelves, beating out even the most reliable ongoing series from either DC or Marvel (now launching their own zombie series). Whether that’s the power of zombies or the Justice League heroes at work is for the fans to debate, but a whole new audience will be joining in when the collected DCeased arrives in bookstores on November 20th.

The marketing team at DC had plenty to choose from when it came to building hype, and capturing the spirit of DCeased. There was the unforgettable and heartbreaking moment Batman chose Damian to replace him. Then came the twist that saw Black Canary become Green Lantern. And of course… the devastating loss that forced Superman to kill Flash in gruesome fashion. But instead the marketing team took a different approach, and deserve a round of applause.
