Behaviour Interactive’s “first fully licensed Tome” for Dead by Daylight will bring The Pig back into the mix in a brand-new Saw crossover. Amanda Young in the Saw franchise originally made her Dead by Daylight debut in Chapter VII: The Saw in January 2018, donning a terrifying pig mask.

Dead by Daylight began taking the world by storm upon its PC launch in 2016. It later migrated to PS4 and Xbox One consoles, offering even more players a chance to explore the horror-themed asymmetrical multiplayer game. While Behaviour Interactive goes out of its way to craft formidable Killers of its own, the studio also likes to set established horror icons on Dead by Daylight’s in-game Survivors. Thus far, Michael Myers, Leatherface, Freddy Krueger, and Pinhead have joined the chaos. A Ringu-inspired crossover will go live this coming March, as well. But first, the online title’s next major update is set to reintroduce a character who already wreaked havoc on the world of Dead by Daylight.

SCREENRANT VIDEO OF THE DAY

Today, January 25, the crew at Behaviour Interactive announced Dead by Daylight’s Archives Tome 10: Saw, content set to go live this week on Wednesday, January 26. The new Tome will boast three previously unseen stories from Dead by Daylight and Saw, all revolving around Detective Tapp’s and Amanda Young’s/The Pig’s memories. Better still, the developer created a Book of SAW Collection for users to unlock while playing, which will come complete with two additional characters and a few unspecified outfits. Check out the reveal trailer for Tome 10: Saw in the video linked below:

Tomes have served as a mainstay in The Archives of Dead by Daylight for the last couple of years and change, offering up new levels of challenges to explore. The first Tome, Awakening, went live in late 2019 and featured the game’s first Rift, which unlocks cosmetic rewards such as new charms and outfits.

That Saw constitutes the first “fully licensed Tome” could set quite the precedent going forward. What other established properties will resurface in Dead by Daylight’s Archives somewhere down the line? That much remains to be seen, but at least the new Saw content itself is already right around the corner.

Dead by Daylight is out now on Google Stadia, Nintendo Switch, PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, Android, and iOS platforms; the Tome 10:Saw content arrives on Wednesday, January 26.
