The Witch Queen expansion has finally arrived in Destiny 2, and with it comes the highly anticipated Void 3.0 update. While most Warlock and Titan players were happy with the changes their Void subclasses received, a few Hunter players have been expressing their displeasure with the removal of perks such as Heart of the Pack, which gave players and their allies armor, recovery, agility, and weapon haste after killing tethered enemies. Some Hunter players have even gone as far as to claim that Destiny 2’s Witch Queen update killed off Nightstalker class because of this ‘nerf’, which couldn’t be further from the truth. With the right Nightstalker subclass setup, Hunters can easily create one of the most overpowered playstyles ever seen in the Destiny series.

In short, Hunters can become ‘The Predator’ in Destiny 2.  This Nightstalker subclass setup will give Hunters the ability to go invisible after every single glaive kill and even make up for the stat bonuses lost from the removal of Heart of the Pack. First, players will need the Engima Legendary Glaive, which can be acquired at the Relic after the first story mission in The Witch Queen. Second, players will have to upgrade their Season 16 artifact until they unlock ‘Suprressing Glaive’, which causes glaives to suppress any enemy hit by its melee or projectile, in the artifacts second to the last column. Finally, players will have to equip the ‘Stylish Executioner’ Aspect in their void Subclass menu, which turns players invisible upon killing a suppressed enemy.

With just these 3 items alone in Destiny 2, players will be able to go invisible after killing any suppressed enemy they face. If players kill any enemy with any glaive while Suppressing Glaive is equipped on their class item, they will turn invisible immediately thanks to the Stylish Executioner Aspect. Suppressing enemies with a glaive blinds enemies and keeps them from using their abilities, which is especially useful when fighting Lightbareing Hive, Scorn Chieftans, or any other enemies with lethal abilities during the legendary Witch Queen campaign. Players can even use Suppressing Glaive with the new Hunter Exotic Glaive ‘Edge of concurrence’. With these 3 items serving as a base for this build, it’s time to optimize and upgrade it through the use of Fragments and Exotic Armor.

The Best Void 3.0 Build For Hunters in The Witch Queen

Exotic Armor:

Graviton Forfeit (Exotic Helmet): Increases the duration of Invisibility effects.

or

Omnioculus (Exotic Chest): Players gain a second Smoke Bomb charge and have damage resistance while invisible. When a player makes an ally invisible, they gain damage resistance while invisible and the player gains melee energy.

Void Aspects:

Stylish Executioner: Defeating a Void-debuffed target (weakened, suppressed, or volatile) grants invisibility and Truesight. While invisible after a Stylish Execution, players’ next melee attack weakens enemies.

Trapper’s Ambush: Players can activate Quickfall in Destiny 2 to spend their melee charge and dive to the ground, creating a smoke cloud upon impact. Enemies caught in the cloud are weakened and allies become invisible. Also, Snare Bombs, upon attaching to surfaces or enemies, cause the player and nearby allies to become invisible.

Void Fragments:

Echo of Persistence: Void buffs applied to the player (Invisibility, Overshield, and Devour) have increased duration. (-10 Mobility)

Echo of Leeching: Melee final blows start health regeneration for the player and nearby allies. (+10 Resilience)

Echo of Domineering: After suppressing a target, gain greatly increased Mobility for a short duration, and players equipped weapon is reloaded from reserves. (+10 Discipline)

Dodge:

Gamblers Dodge: Dodging near enemies instantly recharges players’ melee (smoke bomb).

In a surprising turn of events, it seems that the Titans’ Void 3.0 update in Destiny 2 is the most lackluster of the 3 classes. With this Hunter build, players will become glaive-wielding assassins that remain unseen and basically unkillable. Every choice made in this build is to keep Hunters invisible for as long as possible while also allowing for the abilities that can make them invisible to be charged at all times.

Smoke Bombs cant be thrown while holding a Glaive, so the new Void aspect, Trappers Ambush, is the only way for players to go invisible while holding a Glaive without getting a Glaive kill. The new Void Fragments will have Hunters forgetting Heart of the Pack even existed (most didn’t know it did anyway) all while providing even better stat bonuses for players and their allies.
