Frontier’s Cry is a new Hand Cannon in Destiny 2 that some players may have already earned by saving their Iron Banner bounties from the previous season. Iron Banner is one of the endgame PvP activities that players can earn specific weapons and high-stat armor from, and Season of the Risen has both introduced new weapons and reworked some that were introduced in past seasons. Frontier’s Cry is an entirely new Solar Hand Cannon that also comes with the Iron Banner exclusive Origin Trait called Skulking Wolf.

Skulking Wolf is the guaranteed Origin Trait on all weapons from Iron Banner whether it’s the new Frontier’s Cry Hand Cannon or the fan-favorite Riiswalker Shotgun in Destiny 2. Additionally, Skulking Wolf is a pure PvP Origin Trait, specifically Iron Banner. During the Hunt, the moment when one team has captured all three areas, final blows with this weapon grant enhanced radar and remove the user from the opposition radar. This perk activates regardless of which team has the Hunt, so it’s a perfect perk for both the hunters and the hunted.

Similar to all other Iron Banner weapons, Guardians can earn Frontier’s Cry by completing the weekly bounties for the PvP game mode or redeeming 20 Iron Banner tokens with Lord Saladin. Additionally, Iron Banner tokens can only be redeemed when the game mode is active for the week, which typically happens once every full week in a given month. This means that players can expect Iron Banner to return three or four times in Destiny 2: Season of the Risen, though the former is most likely the correct number. Lastly, there is an Iron Banner seasonal that will reward Frontier’s Cry and the other new weapon, Razor’s Edge, upon completing certain steps.

Destiny 2: Frontier’s Cry God Roll

As a 180 RPM Hand Cannon, Frontier’s Cry deals a little less damage than its 140 RPM counterparts, but there are some perks that allow it to take advantage of its RPM and increase its damage. These are the perks that players should be looking for in their Frontier’s Cry God Roll:

  • Arrowhead Brake: Improves recoil control and handling.
  • Accurized Rounds: Improves range.
  • Rapid Hit: Rapid precision hits temporarily increase stability and reload speed.
  • Adagio: After defeating a target, Frontier’s Cry fires more slowly and deals increased damage for seven seconds.

Adagio only slows down the Frontier’s Cry rate of fire by 15%, which means the weapon still fires faster than the Palindrome in Destiny 2. Additionally, Adagio provides all Hand Cannons with a 30% damage buff, improving Frontier’s Cry damage output beyond that of any other Hand Cannon in the game. Alongside Rapid Hit, Frontier’s Cry has one of the best PvP perk combinations in-game, and Skulking Wolf makes it a phenomenal weapon to use in Iron Banner overall. Alternatively, players can also look for Iron Reach and Kill Clip in the fourth column. Iron Reach massively improves Frontier’s Cry at the cost of weapon stability, while Kill Clip increases damage once players reload after a kill.

Destiny 2 is available on PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and Google Stadia platforms.
