Ghost Fragments are one of the many currencies used in Destiny 2, and they’re exclusively found and used on the Tangled Shore. Access the Tangled Shore by first completing the Forsaken starting mission, which is free for all players. There are many ways to earn Ghost Fragments, but it’s a slow grind to earn them. Fortunately, Ghost Fragments can be exchanged for bounties with rewards that are well worth the grind.

Ghost Fragments can be farmed from defeating high-value targets, running through the Forsaken expansion, completing Lost Sectors, Patrols, Public Events, Heroic Public Events, and opening Region Chests. Finding the Region Chests is easier to do with an Expert Tracker Ghost mod equipped. This will show the Region Chest within a 75-meter range, and two Ghost Fragments can be found in each. The next best thing is to complete the Patrol missions, which are scattered throughout the Tangled Shore. Patrols will only reward one Ghost Fragment at a time, but sometimes they’re as easy as defeating 20 enemies or surveying another area near where the Patrol started.

Unlike most currencies in Destiny 2 that can be stored and stocked up on, Guardians can only hold 20 Ghost Fragments. This includes the Ghost Fragments that are in their inventory and the ones that are picked up by the Post Master. Since they have a low storage capacity, Ghost Fragments are best spent on the Wanted Bounties available from Spider, the vendor in the Tangled Shore.

How To Get Ghost Fragments In Destiny 2

In addition to selling a number of crafting materials and regular daily bounties, Spider sells Wanted Bounties that can only be purchased with Destiny 2‘s Ghost Fragments. Wanted Bounties offer larger rewards than regular bounties will, and Spider has several levels of Wanted Bounties increasing levels of rewards. His best “Wanted Bounty” rewards XP, 15,000 Glimmer, and an Enhancement Core. For anyone who is short on materials and looking to build up a stockpile, Spider’s Wanted Bounties are the way to go.

The major downside to Spider’s Wanted Bounties is that they do require Guardians to venture out across the system to hunt the targets. The bounties that cost few Ghost Fragments will give great tips for where those targets are, such as the specific Destiny 2 Lost Sector that the bounty can be found in. The higher rewarding bounties take a bit longer, but the targets rotate from place to place. Becoming more familiar with each of the high-tier bounty possible locations will make finding them easier to do the next time around.
