Destiny 2: Season of the Splicer received one of its largest updates yet, featuring a number of changes to weapons and the inclusion of Master difficulty for the Vault of Glass raid. Veteran Destiny players know that the Vault of Glass is one of the most critical components of the game’s playable lore, originally included in the first Destiny. Players looking to test their metal should take this challenge up. The Master version of VoG features additional challenges, like Champions in every encounter.

Those considering tackling the Master version of Vault of Glass should bring a fireteam whose average Light Level is at least 1340. The raid plays the same, but enemies deal more damage and are harder to defeat. Additionally, Atheon has a damage per second check and is about as close to a “bullet sponge” as a raid boss can be. New loot has been added to the Master difficulty version of the Vault of Glass in the form of Timelost guns.

Destiny 2: How to Unlock The Timelost Guns

Timelost guns are similar to Adept guns earned in Trials of Osiris, having unique mods that can be equipped only to their kind of weapon in Destiny 2. The only way to earn Timelost guns is by completing the weekly Vault of Glass raid challenge on Master difficulty, not just completing the raid itself on Master difficulty. Only one Timelost weapon is available per week, and the weekly challenge is to complete the Vault of Glass raid.

To put it simply, the first time a fire team completes the Vault of Glass raid in a week they must complete it on Master difficulty. They cannot beat the raid, then go back and play through it on Masters. It has to be completed the first time of the week on Masters. Additionally, Timelost weapons cannot be exchanged for Spoils of Conquest at the end of the Vault of Glass unless players have already earned that Timelost weapon. Each Timelost gun has a shader specifically unique to the weapon. Dismantling it will not provide the shader, and it cannot be earned and equipped on another weapon.

Timelost guns also receive +3 to every stat when Masterworked, except for the Impact stat, and can have Adept Mods equipped. The July 6 update released the first Timelost gun, the Hezen Vengeance Rocket Launcher, and the next weekly update will see a new Timelost gun take its place. The six Timelost guns are:

  • Hezen Vengeance (Rocket Launcher)
  • Praedyth’s Revenger (Sniper Rifle)
  • Corrective Measure (Machine Gun)
  • Fatebringer (Hand Cannon)
  • Found Verdict (Shotgun)
  • Vision of Confluence (Scout Rifle)

The Found Verdict Timelost Shotgun can also be earned as a reward for players who complete the Vault of Glass triumph called Maestro Glasser. This triumph requires players to complete all encounter challenges in Vault of Glass on Master difficulty. The five challenges are:

  • Confluxes challenge
  • Oracles challenge
  • Templar challenge
  • Gatekeepers challenge
  • Atheon challenge

The Master difficulty version of the Vault of Glass raid is available on all platforms where Destiny 2 can be played. Completing the Vault of Glass on Masters also has a chance to reward players with Enhancement Prisms, Ascendant Shards, and a piece of armor with a high stat. The stat rotates weekly as well.

Destiny 2 is available on PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S, and Google Stadia platforms.
