Developer Bungie announces that it’s increasing Destiny 2‘s drop rate for the Exotic rocket launcher The Eyes of Tomorrow in an upcoming update. The Solar rocket launcher was added in Destiny 2’s Beyond Light expansion and can be obtained from the final boss of the Deep Stone Crypt raid, Taniks the Abomination. Given that it’s a Exotic-level random raid drop, a roll after completing the raid isn’t assured, and players may need multiple completions to finally get the weapon.

The Beyond Light expansion is Destiny 2’s biggest so far, adding locations, the new Stasis subclass, several memorable characters from the original game, and a lot more. In spite of all that it’s added to the game, Beyond Light isn’t without its share of issues. Bungie just recently fixed a glitch that allowed 12 players to join raids that are normally meant for only six, which made the experience not only easier but also a lot more enjoyable for some who took advantage of the exploit. While players hoped that Bungie would take its time to fix the amusing glitch, it was resolved with a recent patch.

In a news post, Bungie has announced that it will fix The Eyes of Tomorrow’s drop rate, and the change is scheduled to take effect on March 23. According to the post, the studio discovered that the game’s bad luck protection, which increases the chances of The Eyes of Tomorrow dropping each time a player completes the raid but doesn’t get the weapon, was mistakenly being applied on a per-character basis rather than being account-wide. This meant that the bad luck protection was only being applied to the first character that the raid was run with for the week, which is particularly bad for players with multiple characters. With the upcoming Hotfix 3.1.1.1 update, the bad luck protection for all characters will be combined into a single value and will apply retroactively since the raid launched.

Among other things, the Hotfix 3.1.1.1 update will also boost the damage of The Eyes of Tomorrow after it was unintentionally reduced in a previous update, as well as balance changes to the Stasis subclass that were previously announced by the studio. Lastly, the post also announced that a new Iron Banner event is set to begin on the same day the update is released on March 23.

The drop rate changes to The Eyes of Tomorrow will definitely be significant for those that have been trying to obtain the weapon across multiple characters without success. While the fix may have no effect on players who only raid on a single character, those who play Destiny 2 with multiple Guardians may finally be able to breathe a sigh of relief.
