The first boss of the Last Wish raid is Kalli, a Taken warrior that is part of the Awoken species in Destiny 2. This boss fight requires tight Fireteam coordination, but Kalli can be defeated quickly if everything goes according to plan. Unlike most raid encounters in Destiny 2, this fight begins with everyone spreading out and defending their own piece of the arena.

The first damage phase is going to come up quickly, and it will be split up into three separate parts. Kalli can be defeated in the first phase with the right weapons, but if she is not defeated the whole setup cycle is going to repeat itself. To defeat Kalli in one phase, Guardians will want to have a Fusion Rifle and Sword equipped. While there are plenty of Season of the Lost weapons in Destiny 2 that could fill these roles, the best options are going to be the Merciless Fusion Rifle and the Falling Guillotine Sword.

Once Kalli’s arena is entered, take a look at the ceiling above her (the encounter doesn’t start until someone shoots her). There are going to be six circles containing one of sixteen different possible symbols, which is a reoccurring theme of Destiny 2’s Last Wish raid. Each Fireteam member should be assigned a circle to keep track of, and not a symbol. This is because the symbols will change after the first damage phase is completed, so it’s better to be familiar with the circles themselves and keep track of what’s inside instead of chasing down the same symbol over and over.

Destiny 2 Last Wish Raid: How to Defeat Kalli

These symbols are going to look familiar for anyone who has completed Destiny 2’s Shattered Throne Erebus puzzle. Each pair of circles is going to have the same symbol, and behind them are three plates. Two of the plates will match the symbols, and the third will not. Each player needs to stand on a plate that matches the symbol until a Taken Knight appears. Defeat the Taken Knight, and then head to the center of the room. The first damage phase of this Last Wish raid encounter will begin after all six Knights are defeated.

After Kalli teleports to the center of the room, have the Warlock teammate place a Well of Radiance down where she was found at the beginning of the Last Wish raid. Damage her as much as possible, then when she opens six doors at random each Guardian needs to run into their own door. This will protect each member from dying, but if two or more Destiny 2 Guardians go in the same door they’ll instantly die. Once the doors open Kalli can be damaged again. The damage-to-door part of this Last Wish raid boss fight repeats three times before the damage phase ends. The symbols in the middle of the room will change, and the team will have to start with the plates once more.

If a Fireteam has two Warlocks, feel free to place a Well of Radiance on Kalli and in the center of the room. A few Guardians can attack her with Swords, while the others use Fusion Rifles. Swords deal massive damage rapidly and can help defeat Kalli quickly before the damage phase is over. Once Kalli is defeated proceed with the rest of Destiny 2’s Last Wish raid.

Destiny 2 is available on PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S, and Google Stadia.
