Destiny 2 Grandmaster Nightfalls are well underway, and one of the recurring Grandmaster Nightfalls in Season of the Lost is the Lake of Shadows. This is going to be one of the easier Destiny 2 Grandmaster Nightfalls to prepare for and complete this season, as the Champions and other enemies can be defeated using caution without sacrificing speed. Additionally, with the right equipment, players can defeat the final boss of the Lake of Shadow before an overwhelming number of enemies spawn in the enclosed area.

The Lake of Shadows has a few distinct features that are present regardless of the Nightfall difficulty in Destiny 2. For example, there are three different types of enemies with elemental shields. The majority of shields that players have to deal with are solar, followed by arc, and a single enemy with a void shield. The “Match Game” and “Locked Loadout” mission modifiers in Grandmaster Nightfalls make this particular part of the Lake of Shadows more challenging, but, with the right loadout, any Fireteam can take on this mission easily.

There are a few good options for loadouts that players can use, but undoubtedly their Fireteams in Destiny 2 should have a Warlock, Hunter, and Titan. The Warlock should use the Phoenix Protocol chest piece and Well of Radiance, the Titan should use the Ward of Dawn and Helm of Saint-14, and the Hunter should use the Revenant super ability with Aeon Swift Gauntlets. For the Exotic weapons, fireteams should be using Divinity, Ticuu’s Divination, and Witherhoard. All three members need Focusing Lens equipped as well.

Destiny 2 Lake Of Shadows Grandmaster Nightfall Strategies

No Season of the Lost weapon is needed for this Grandmaster in Destiny 2. The Warlock’s Well of Radiance will empower teammates against large groups of enemies and the bosses, and Pheonix Protocol returns 50% of Super energy. The Hunter’s Revenant ability applies Stasis and activates the Focusing Lens in combination with Well of Radiance. The Titan’s Ward of Dawn will also protect the team from damage, which is particularly useful during the final boss stage.

Fireteams should use the Hunter’s Aeon Swift to generate ammo for teammates, and the Titan and Warlock abilities can be used more frequently in large groups of enemies. During the final boss stage in Lake of Shadows, teams should use both the Well of Radiance and the Ward of Dawn on top of the boss in combination with the Revenant Super. They can apply Witherhoard for additional damage chips, and use the Falling Guillotine Sword to quickly attack this Nightfall’s boss. Additionally, players can wear a mask from Destiny 2’s Festival of the Lost event to earn Candy and Spectral Pages.

Ideal weapon loadouts for each class during the Lake Of Shadows Grandmaster Nightfall appear below:

Titan

  • Witherhoard: Activates chip damage on bosses and clears groups of small enemies quickly
