Destiny 2 allows players to team up with friends and explore the cosmos, saving areas from impending darkness. The game is also free-to-play, allowing new players to jump into the world at any point. The player takes control of a Guardian, a protector of Earth’s final safe city. These Guardians use light to protect the last city from incoming threats. One of the bigger critics about the original game was the lack of story but this entry goes above and beyond with explaining its mythos and story. The Elemental Charge is part of the Solstice of Heroes. Here’s what they do and how players can unlock them.

Elemental Charge Explained in Destiny 2: Solstice of Heroes

Elemental Charge is items that are dropped by killing specific enemies. There are three different types of Elemental Charge players can encounter. If players collect 30 of each Elemental Charge, they will be able to receive a buff depending on the type of Elemental Charge. Here’s what each Elemental Charge buff can do. The player needs to have a weapon in this class to collect the specific Elemental Orbs.

  • Arc: This will send out a burning wave that will damage nearby enemies.
  • Solar: Guardians are now allowed to move around faster and do more melee damage.
  • Void: When crouching, players will become invisible and be able to use Truesight.

Destiny 2 finds a solid balance between competitive, cooperative, and loot-based shooter. The series is very similar to the Borderlands franchise in that way, as both require the player to be patient in hunting down legendary items. Although, Destiny 2 contains addictive competitive shooter elements that make the single-player experience much more important. While the Solstice of Heroes may be a bit of a grind, it is the best time to jump back into Destiny 2. It is also unlikely that the world will see a Destiny 3 any time soon.

Destiny 2: Solstice of Heroes is available now on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PC, and Google Stadia.
