Grandmaster Nightfalls are officially underway in Destiny 2 Season of the Lost, providing players a challenging means to earn Adept Weapons, Enhancement Prisms, and Ascendant Shards. The first Grandmaster Nightfall is The Hollowed Lair. This Grandmaster Nightfall is filled with Scorn enemies and a number of modifiers that increase the difficulty of the mission.

The Hollowed Lair is one of six Grandmaster Nightfalls that will be in rotation during Season of the Lost. In addition to earning the regular rewards, completing this Grandmaster Nightfall fulfills a Season of the Lost week seven challenge.

The Hollowed Lair Grandmaster Nightfall has large enemy encounters, Overload, and Unstoppable Champions. Since each of the three classes of Guardian has its own utility, it’s best to complete this Grandmaster Nightfall with a three-person Fireteam consisting of one of each class. A Stasis Warlock, Void Hunter, and Void Titan are the best choices to run, primarily using a loadout comprised of Season of the Lost weapons.

Hunter

  • Way of the Trapper (Void Subclass): Way of the Trapper allows Hunters to immobilize enemies, making them easier to defeat.
  • Kinetic Weapon: Any Kinetic Bow
  • Energy Weapon: Lorentz Driver with catalyst
  • Power Weapon: Threaded Needle with Vorpal Weapon or Hothead with Explosive Light
  • Exotic Gear: Orpheus Rig or Fr0st-EE5

Titan

  • Code of the Commander (Void Subclass): Allies who shoot through the banner will have increased damage, and guarding them makes the banner last longer.

  • Energy Weapon: Imperial Needle Bow
  • Power Weapon: Threaded Needle with Vorpal Weapon or Hothead with Explosive Light
  • Exotic Gear: Ursa Furiosa

Each of the Exotic gear pieces listed is designed to recharge or return ability energy quickly. This includes Super energy, which is needed to deal with a lot of the encounters with large amounts of enemies. Additionally, the Ascendancy Rocket Launcher is another great choice to use with Explosive Light instead of the Hothead. Multiple orbs of power will be generated easily throughout The Hollowed Lair which will activate Explosive Light x6 quickly.

Destiny 2 is available on PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S, and Google Stadia platforms.
