Destiny 2 continues to leave its fan in awe with all of its hidden items, such as the Trivial Mystery locations found in the Forest of Echoes. The Forest of Echoes is the Shattered Realm location from the mission in the HELM. It’s likely that the Forest of Echoes has more secrets than the Trivial Mysteries alone, but many of the Wayfinder’s Compass upgrades are being gatekept by the Wayfinder’s Voyage quest – the Season of the Lost quest that sets up the Witch Queen expansion.

The Wayfinder’s Compass is the key to finding the Trivial Mysteries in the Forest of Echoes. Before finding any of the mysteries, the Wayfinder’s Compass will have to upgrade with Barrier Breach. This is a natural part of the Season of the Lost questline, so Destiny 2 will guide everyone through it naturally in the early stages. Once the upgrade is equipped, the next step is to head to the Forest of Echoes.

SCREENRANT VIDEO OF THE DAY

As of week one in Destiny 2, only seven of the Trivial Mysteries can be found in the Forest of Echoes. It’s unclear whether or not there are more, because all of the Forest of Echoes triumphs are locked as “Secret Triumphs,” leaving no description for players. Nonetheless, only three of the Trivial Mysteries are needed for the Ley Line Rumors challenge in week one. To start the hunt, continue through the Forest of Echoes mission until the first Beacon is aligned.

The Left Behind Triumph Guide in Destiny 2

After the first Beacon is aligned, leave the church and head left towards the hill. There will be a clear passageway up the hill that requires some jumping to reach the top, leading into the ruins of the destroyed building seen above. The building will be marked with a “Slowed” effect just like the outside of the church. Once inside, climb on top of the rounded wall to the left of the building in the back. It’s time for a Halo and Destiny 2 crossover obstacle jumping course.

Look towards the second-floor balcony and jump. Grabbing it might be difficult without the use of a secondary jump, but jumping and swinging a sword will carry players to the edge. Next, jump on the railing and grab hold of the third-floor balcony. Head inside the building and invoke the Barrier Breach upgrade with the celestial beacon on the right side of the entrance. Drop down, and open the Awoken Chest to claim the reward and earn the Left Behind Triumph.

The Twofold Ward Triumph Guide in Destiny 2

After the first Beacon is aligned, leave the church from the back and look slightly off to the left. There is a clear pathway leading to another area. Head inside, and the Slowed effect will take hold once more. Defeat the Taken Psions inside (can be done easily with a Destiny 2 Override weapon) and look for the broken support beam that stands below the second-floor droop. Climb up it, and head left to the pillar beside it to a celestial beacon. Invoke the Barrier Breach upgrade.

As soon as the Barrier Breach upgrade is invoked turn towards the back of the building. The doorway can be passed through, and the chest will be located on the last rock. To leave, turn around and head back up to the barrier and invoke the Barrier Breach once more. The TwoFold Ward Triumph will be awarded as soon as the chest is opened.

The Entombed Triumph Guide in Destiny 2

After the first Beacon is aligned in Destiny 2, leave the church and back towards the first area where Taken were gathered. They’ll likely be gathered there again and have to be defeated once more. Invoke the Barrier Breach with the celestial beacon just outside of the doorway leading to the catacombs. Head down the hole and follow the pathway to the left. Turn down the hallway, then take the first right turn and follow the path. The chest is at the end, and opening it will award the Entombed Triumph.

Leaving this area is a little complex, but the first step is to turn around from the chest and head back down the hallway. Take a right, then a left. The Barrier Breach will have to be invoked to get outside. Once outside, climb up the hill to the right. It’s a bit tricky to navigate the small ledges to grab onto, but jumping like a Destiny 2 Dark Vanguard will make it easier. This will return players to the catacomb entrance again. By this point, enough Trivial Mysteries will be found to complete the Ley Line Rumors challenge.

The Taken Root Triumph Guide in Destiny 2

Taken Root will be the easiest Trivial Mystery to find in the Forest of Echoes. After the first Beacon is aligned, head back towards the beginning of the mission. A celestial beacon and barrier doorway will be located just underneath the last edge. Invoke the Barrier Breach, and head inside. Drop down, and the chest is to the left. The Taken Root Triumph will be unlocked, and a celestial beacon near the front of the entrance will provide passage through the barrier.

The next three Trivial Mysteries need to be completed after the second Beacon is aligned, but before heading through the Taken portal to the boss fight. This boss fight will be easier than a Taken boss fight in the Prophecy Dungeon. However, there is no turning back for anyone who goes through the portal, meaning the mission will have to be restarted otherwise. After they’re all found, complete the mission to earn a piece of the new Destiny 2 Season of the Lost gear.

The In Shadow Triumph Guide in Destiny 2

As mentioned, the first step to get the In Shadow Trivial Mystery and Triumph is to align the second beacon. Afterward, climb up the hill near the edge of the cliff where Taken enemies were spawning. Follow the pathway until a lone cliff-side can be seen with three celestial beacons and one Ascendant Anchor. Jump down and turn to the right. A barrier doorway will be seen across the gap and can be passed through by invoking the barrier breach with the celestial beacon closest to that edge.

Once inside the small cave, the chest will be on the right. Opening it awards the In Shadow Triumph, but this area isn’t finished yet. The celestial beacon on the inside of the cave will have to be used in order to pass through the next doorway leading to the next Destiny 2 Triumph – also known as the Abandoned Trivial Mystery.

The Abandoned Triumph Guide in Destiny 2

From the barrier doorway exiting the In Shadow Trivial Mystery, head left sprinting to the darkness. After three or four seconds a water wheel will be in sight and a barrier doorway next to it. Head inside and the chest will be guarded by some Taken. Defeat them, and open the chest to complete the Abandoned Triumph and Trivial Mystery.

If the Barrier Breach runs out of time before the windmill can be reached, the In Shadow location will have to enter again. It may take a couple of runs to get it right, especially considering part of the area that has to be walked through initiates the Slowed effect. Jump and use a sword to gain some momentum to rush through the doorway.

The Deep Defense Trivial Mystery Guide in Destiny 2

Deep Defense is the final Trivial Mystery to complete in Destiny 2 Season of the Lost week one. Head towards the rock the is just before the rock with the portal leading to the final boss. Face the portal, then turn 180 degrees to view the small complex. There are a lot of Taken that will have to be clear out first, but after they’re dead head straight towards the back following the image above. They’ll be even easier to defeat once the Gjallarhorn is in Destiny 2. At the very end is a dark trail that will have to be jumped down on in order to reach the pathway.

Follow the pathway left, all the way to the cavern. Once inside the cavern, the barrier doorway will be on the left of the floor. Across from the ledge of the cavern is the celestial beacon that will invoke the Barrier Breach. Head to the beacon, then turnaround, and back to the barrier door. Opening the chest will award the Deep Defense Triumph, and complete the last Trivial Mystery.

Destiny 2 is available on PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S, and Google Stadia platforms.
