Destroy All Humans 2: Reprobed Leaked By PlayStation

In another cosmic comeback, Destroy All Humans 2 – Reprobed has gotten a sudden and surprising reveal for PlayStation 5, and the game coming to other platforms also seems likely. The original action-adventure sequel saw the return of the lovable body-snatcher Crypto and followed his continued attempts to take over the Earth. The Destroy All Humans franchise regained its popularity with the remaster of Destroy All Humans in 2020, and a remake of the original Destroy All Humans 2 was teased in February 2021.

The Destroy All Humans games put players in control of Crypto, an alien invader of the Furon race, as he wreaks havoc and completes missions throughout open-world American cities. Advanced sci-fi weapons and gadgets grants the series a wide variety of mission types and gameplay styles. Combat allows Crypto to utilize laser weapons and telekinetic abilities, while stealth segments let the evil extraterrestrial control minds and mimic human characters. Piloting a flying saucer is also possible, and this sandbox approach makes Destroy All Humans quite similar to other beloved franchises like Grand Theft Auto or Saints Row. The remake of the first game brought major visual improvements to PS4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch, and it appears the next attempt will be an even greater leap forward.

In a now deleted PlayStation tweet posted on Tuesday, it was announced that Destroy All Humans 2 – Reprobed will be coming to PlayStation 5, and the news was accompanied by a full reveal trailer. Current-gen hardware looks to breathe brand-new life into the classic title, with Crypto and his wacky gadgets benefitting from modern graphics and effects. Beautiful particle effects compliment Crypto’s mind control abilities, and destroying buildings from a flying saucer now utilizes more realistic physics. Currently, a release date for Destroy All Humans 2 – Reprobed has not been divulged, but the game’s official reveal and more information seem poised to arrive soon.

While PlayStation revealed Destroy All Humans 2 – Reprobed a bit early, it seems likely that the upcoming remake was scheduled for a reveal at THQ Nordic’s upcoming digital game showcase. The upcoming event will celebrate the publisher’s ten-year anniversary by showing off some unannounced games, including new installments in “legendary franchises.” With the massive success of Destroy All Humans, particularly after the recent remake of the first game, it seems likely that the Reprobed remake was set to be revealed during the upcoming event on September 17.

The original Destroy All Humans 2 is a beloved title, having added exciting new features to the original games fun open-world experience. By remaking the extraterrestrial experience on current-generation hardware, the wide open world of the game can be made even more immersive and impressive. While the leaked PlayStation announcement has since been removed, it seems likely that Destroy All Humans 2 – Reprobed will be officially revealed in the near future.
