Diablo 2: Resurrected, an adventure RPG remake, offers fans of the franchise an updated version of a popular title, and draws in new players with a game that was previously unavailable on consoles. There are many powerful enemies for characters to test their skills with, and even a hardcore mode that challenges players to opt-in for having only 1 life. With new features, graphics, and gameplay mechanics, players can enjoy a mix of nostalgia and unique experiences in Diablo 2: Resurrected.

The game has intense combat, complex dungeons, and various characters for players to explore. From Diablo 2: Resurrected to Elder Scrolls Online, more and more games are offering character customization. Along with developing special abilities, characters will be able to loot gear specific to their class. There are 7 classes, each with their own diverse skillsets and build optimizations. The Necromancer has one build, in particular, that’s more powerful than the others.

The best build for the Necromancer in Diablo 2: Resurrected is the Summoner build. As indicated by the name, this build focuses on strengthening the Necromancer’s summoning abilities. The Necromancer is able to call skeletons, undead mages, and golems to fight by his side while he takes on hordes of enemies. The Summoner build also uses enemy cadavers to deal damage and lowers the defense of surrounding enemies. There are other build options for the Necromancer, but the Summoner results in the most powerful version of this class.

Specific skills and gear need to be upgraded and utilized to create a Summoner Necromancer. Skill points are gained with experience and levels over time, and it can be difficult to reach the top tier of any build. Some gear will give additional stats specific to the Necromancer, such as boosts to skeleton mastery, summoning, and poison skills. The majority of stat points should be spent in Vitality, with a minimum amount of points put into Strength, Dexterity, and Energy (just enough to equip top gear). For the Necromancer, there are 9 abilities to focus on as well as a few different gear options.

Skills

  • Raise Skeleton – 20
  • Skeleton Mastery – 20
  • Corpse Explosion – 20
  • Raise Skeletal Mage – 20
  • Golem Mastery – 20
  • Dim Vision – 3
  • Fire Golem – 1
  • Lower Resist – 1
  • Amplify Damage – 1

Recommended Gear

  • Arm of Leoric (Wand)
  • Harlequin Crest (Helms)
  • Trang-Oul’s Scales (Chest Armor)
  • Arachnid Mesh (Belt)
  • Marrowwalk (Boots)
  • Magefist (Gloves)
  • Homunculus (Shield)

There are a few alternate wand, shield, and glove options for the Summoner build, such as Carin Shard or Boneflame, but the above gear gives the best boosts for optimizing this Necromancer build. There are a few other options for the Necromancer like the Poison or Bone Spell builds that players can explore if they want a different experience with the same character. Diablo 2: Resurrected has a decent amount of character customization, an option in RPGs that’s become increasingly popular. The customize mechanic gives players the freedom to build powerful characters like the Summoner Necromancer.

Diablo 2: Resurrected is available now for Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, PS4, PS5, Nintendo Switch, and PC.
