A Disney/Pixar fan created in-game cosplay for Animal Crossing: New Horizons that’s inspired by Turning Red‘s protagonists, Priya, Meilin, Miriam, and Abby. Pixar’s latest film, Turning Red, recently began streaming on Disney+, inviting viewers to go a journey with Mei Lee – a typical teenager holding tight to a not-so-typical secret.

Of course, Turning Red is far from the first Pixar picture to receive fan-made content in Animal Crossing: New Horizons. Shortly after the game’s 2020 release, for example, one dedicated Disney fan recreated the Monsters Inc. basement in ACNH. The creative in-game build even managed to include a fairly accurate design of Boo’s room and an avatar of the character herself. Other Disney-branded properties that have inspired ACNH creations include Moana, Beauty and the Beast, and Toy Story. The Toy Story build, in particular, was made possible by the baked-in tools featured in the Happy Home Paradise expansion, which hit the Nintendo eShop late last year as the first and only paid DLC for Animal Crossing: New Horizons.

SCREENRANT VIDEO OF THE DAY

Reddit user stubbycacti recently shared a screenshot of their in-game Animal Crossing: New Horizons creation, which features villagers styled after the characters in Disney’s latest film, Turning Red. Priya appears on the far-left in the screenshot, donning a film-accurate yellow sweater and round glasses. Meilin, or Mei, is next in line, with a red button-up. Miriam stands next to Mei in the fan-made ACNH build, adorned in a green coat and beanie that looks as though it was ripped straight from the animated movie. And, finally, Abby and her purple overalls round out the picture, as seen in the screenshot below:

Stubbycacti’s in-game Turning Red cosplay for Animal Crossing: New Horizons is nothing short of impressive and pretty close to accurate, especially for Priya and Miriam. This particular build, like countless others before it, showcases the incredible amount of detail featured in the social simulation’s baked-in creation tools. And given the popularity of the film, it won’t come as too much of a surprise if other ACNH players begin tinkering with Turning Red-inspired content.

Animal Crossing: New Horizons celebrates its second-year anniversary later this month. In approximately two years on the market, the title’s made quite the splash with more than 37 million units sold worldwide. As one of the top-selling Nintendo Switch exclusives, the title’s incredible momentum has yet to slow. And since the Switch itself continues to sell like hot cakes, reasons suggests ACNH has several more sales milestones ahead of it.
