When it comes to powerful women, both Game of Thrones and Disney have created some truly iconic characters. From the warrior Mulan to the conquering queen Daenerys, both of these entertainment franchises have shown us what women can do when they are given storylines that live up to their full potential. What would happen if Disney princesses were transplanted to Westeros? Fortunately for us, the internet has come to the rescue, showing us just what these Disney princesses would look like if they were in the tough and brutal world of Game of Thrones.

10 Aurora as Cersei of House Lannister (By DjeDjehuti)

At first blush, it might seem a little counterintuitive to show Aurora as Cersei Lannister. One of them, after all, spends half of her movie not saying anything, and the other is one of the most ruthless and scheming political actors in Westeros who ultimately becomes queen in her own right.

Still, there’s something quite eye-catching about this image, and it forces us to think about how different Aurora would be if she were given a little more agency in her own film. A face-off between Maleficent and Aurora would be something to watch!

9 Elsa as Daenerys of House Targaryen (By DjeDjehuti)

Visually, this one makes a lot of sense, and it looks great. After all, both Elsa of Frozen and Daenerys have that particular Nordic look, with their ice-blonde hair. What’s more, they are both pretty formidable characters in their own right. Disney princess Elsa might be, but she has more magical power than any Disney princess before her, and she’s definitely not afraid to use it (usually for good).

Fortunately, she has a few more restraints than Daenerys does, and thus she doesn’t engage in any acts of senseless, genocidal violence.

8 Rapunzel As Sansa Of House Stark (By DjeDjehuti)

Narratively, both Rapunzel and Sansa Stark share a lot in common. Both of them spend a good part of their youth living in a bit of a dream world, unaware of how things work outside of their sheltered existence. While their lives end up taking very different tracks—Rapunzel’s is a lot less traumatic than Sansa’s—they both still have to contend with the fact that so much of what they thought about the world was built on a lie. Visually, this particular image manages to bring out the agency of both of these characters in a pretty fabulous way.

7 Belle As Margaery Of House Tyrell (By DjeDjehuti)

Now this one is really interesting. Margaery Tyrell is one of the most enigmatic characters in Game of Thrones, and her motivations remain a little opaque right up until the end, when she is killed in the conflagration that sweeps over the Great Sept of Baelor. The choice to make Belle, certainly the brainiest of the Disney princesses, into Margaery implies that there might be more to the princess than initially meets the eye.

Maybe there was more to her little romance with the Beast than met the eye, and maybe she became a more cunning princess than we thought.

6 Ariel As Melisandre Of Lord Of The Light (By DjeDjehuti)

Have you ever wondered what it would be like if Ariel didn’t spend half the movie that’s about her not speaking because of Ursula’s curse? Well, this rendering of Ariel as the sorceress Melisandre gives an idea of what that character might look like. Though the artist has still captured some of the sensitivity and vulnerability that makes Ariel such a perennially popular character, there’s also a faint sense of menace in this image, too, conveyed through the glaring red of her robes and the brazier that smokes portentously, a reminder of the terrifying power of the red woman.

5 Merida As Ygritte Of The Free Folk (By DjeDjehuti)

This one, to be honest, is kind of a obvious. After all, these are two of the characters that share the most in common from the get-go. Both of them are fierce, independently-minded redheads who know what they want and aren’t afraid to get it. One can’t help but wonder whether the makers of Brave had Martin’s original conception of Ygritte in mind when they put the character together.

One thing’s for sure, though. They are both kissed by fire, and you don’t want to mess with them.

4 Snow White As Shae Kind-Of-But-Not-Really Of House Lannister (By DjeDjehuti)

This one is bound to raise a few eyebrows, if only because the pure Snow White is so completely, diametrically opposite to the sultry Shae, the woman who stole poor Tyrion Lannister’s heart and then betrayed him to his enemies (and was ultimately killed by him when he escaped King’s Landing). However, it seems that it’s precisely the juxtaposition of these two images—that of the good girl Snow White and the bad girl Shae—that makes this image such a compelling one. And let’s be real, who wouldn’t want to see this crossover?

3 Jasmine As Ellaria Sand Of House Martell (By DjeDjehuti)

Again, this one seems kind of obvious when you put them together. Both Jasmine and Ellaria are fierce princesses from a desert kingdom, and both are willing to fight for their rights. One key difference between them, of course, is the fact that Jasmine ultimately has a lot more power than Ellaria.

While the movie Aladdin doesn’t really make the fullest use of her potential, she sure has a lot more to do in her story than Ellaria does in hers. One has to wonder, though, how awesome it would have been if Jasmine had been a bit more willing to use poison against Jafar.

2 Mulan As Brienne Of House Tarth (By DjeDjehuti)

Mulan and Brienne of Tarth share a lot in common. Both of them are women who are trying to make their way in a military that is so dominated by men that the very idea of a woman warrior seems ridiculous. Both, however, are determined to do what is right, to serve the cause of justice no matter what and both, miraculously, succeed.

This image, which shows Mulan looking even more formidable than she does in her own film, highlights why it’s so important that we continue to see images of strong women forging their own path.

1 Lilo As Arya Of House Stark (By DjeDjehuti)

Lilo is one of those Disney characters who always goes a bit unappreciated. In an era in which Disney films were experiencing a bit of a come-down after the glories of the Renaissance, Lilo and Stitch showed there was still some magic left. Seeing her in the guise of Arya, one of the most popular and formidable characters to have appeared in all eight seasons of Game of Thrones, is a recognition of how important it is to see characters like Lilo as the formidable young women that they are, rather than as victims that need saving.
