Disney’s EPCOT Experience will be officially closing on March 14. Located in the Odyssey Pavilion in Walt Disney World’s EPCOT, the EPCOT Experience opened on October 1, 2019, as a replacement for the EPCOT Legacy Showplace. The EPCOT Experience was intended to showcase the relentless innovation, energy, and excitement spurring on the park’s current evolution. The showcase exhibit included a gallery of concept art, a scale model, and a 360-degree film presentation that previewed planned attractions for the park. Like many things, the exhibition closed briefly in 2020 due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

Now, the EPCOT Experience will be closing for good. Disney Imagineer Zach Riddley announced with an Instagram post that Walt Disney World’s EPCOT Experience will be permanently shutting down on March 14 this year. Riddley explained in his caption that many of the planned attractions which the exhibit was meant to share were already completed or close to completion- including Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure, Harmonious, and the upcoming Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind. He also mentioned that Disney’s Imagineers will continue to update guests on the Moana-inspired Journey of Water which was also displayed in the EPCOT Experience but is still under construction. Disney has yet to share what will be taking the EPCOT Experience’s place in the Odyssey Pavilion, but it will surely not remain empty for long. In the past, EPCOT’s Odyssey Pavilion has been the site of various seasonal attractions. While some guests may miss EPCOT Experience‘s immersive attraction, Riddley promises even more “exciting new activations” are on their way.
