In the latest incident out of Disney World, a new video shows The Little Mermaid ride engulfed in flames after one of the park’s signature fireworks shows. Disney’s The Little Mermaid tells the tale of Ariel, a princess who dreams of one day leaving her underwater kingdom to become human. The animated film was released in 1989 and has become one of Disney’s most beloved stories. Like many classic Disney films, The Little Mermaid inspired a theme park ride in Disney World. In late 2012, Under the Sea: Journey of the Little Mermaid opened in Walt Disney World’s Magic Kingdom Park, where it has doled out “under the sea” adventures for parkgoers who love the movie.

SCREENRANT VIDEO OF THE DAY

A recent video shared by Twitter user CD Howard shows the Under the Sea: Journey of the Little Mermaid ride on fire after one of Disney World’s signature fireworks shows. In the short video clip, viewers can see the ride glowing in the night sky, not because it is business as usual, but because the recent fireworks show erroneously set it ablaze. Although brief, the video clearly captures quite the scene. Check it out below:

Disney World is no stranger to incidents involving fallout from fireworks. In November 2014, cascading embers from a fireworks show landed near the Seven Dwarfs Mine Train ride, resulting in flames breaking out where the train passes through just before heading into the mine. No injuries were reported with that incident, and similarly, nobody who was near The Little Mermaid ride appears to be injured, either. So, those who enjoy the film, as well as the ride, will hopefully be back adventuring under the sea in no time.
