Zombie Captain America from Marvel’s What if..? is Disneyland’s newest meet and greet for the Halloween season, and it’s freakily accurate. Disney is known for going all out for their Halloween celebrations and this spooky season is no different. Disney’s California Adventure park currently hosts the night-time event Oogie Boogie Bash, which encourages guests to get dressed up and gives them the chance to meet some new and exciting characters, as well as trick-or-treat around the park.

This zombie-fied version of the Star-Spangled Man first appeared in the fifth episode of Marvel’s newest animated series, What If..? that debuted on Disney+ earlier this year. The episode, simply titled “What if..? Zombies” saw the Earth’s mightiest heroes tackle a zombie outbreak after a virus was accidentally brought back from the quantum realm. With Steve Rogers, unfortunately, being one of the many casualties of this plague, viewers got to see just how scary Cap could be when he turned into a flesh-eating monster.

SCREENRANT VIDEO OF THE DAY

Now, Disney have brought this terrifying iteration of Captain America to life and it’s scarily realistic. In a video shared to Twitter by Attractions Magazine, the undead hero can be seen in his torn-up suit with his shield in hand, snarling and growling at park-goers. Attendees of the event quickly took to social media to share photos and videos of this haunting debut, with many praising the accuracy of the costume, as well as the mannerisms of the character. Check out the video below.

Zombie Captain America is not the only exciting new addition to the parks, as fans were delighted when Agatha Harkness from Marvel’s Wandavision recently made her debut at the exclusive sold-out event. Attendees also have the exciting opportunity to meet (at a distance) Cruella from Disney’s newest live-action venture that stars Emma Stone, Cruella. The Disney parks are certainly a front-runner when it comes to celebrating the Halloween season, and these new additions of some of their most beloved characters from the past year are certainly a welcomed treat.

This horrifying iteration of Captain America is truly something to behold and the accuracy of the costuming and design is mindblowing. As of right now, Zombie Captain America is the only character from What If..? to feature at the event, but now many are calling for them to keep the undead coming and to bring the likes of Zombie Scarlet Witch and Iron Man to the parks as well. While Disneyland is approaching the end of its Halloween season, it’s likely that these characters will not make an appearance this time around, however, following the news that season two of Marvel’s What If..? could be coming to Disney+ as early as next year, who knows what’s in store for the 2022 event.
