Encanto introduced Mirabel’s magical mission to find her Tío Bruno and get the magic back to Casita and the Madrigal family. Along the way, catchy musical numbers were sung and family drama was had. With so much going on, Encanto requires a few rewatches for fans to catch hidden Easter eggs and underrated moments.

There were funny moments that were both endearing and surprising in this Disney animated movie, but there were also underrated ones that flew under the radar. While the dinner scene with Mariano was one of the funnier scenes in the movie, there were subtle moments that had Reddit giggling.

SCREENRANT VIDEO OF THE DAY

Camilo’s Baby Head

Camilo Madrigal was Mirabel’s cousin and in Encanto, he was given the power to shapeshift. This ability allowed him to change into another person or animal, which came in handy from time to time. As one of the funnier characters, shapeshifting was the perfect gift for Camilo.

When asked what Reddit’s funniest moment was in Encanto, PuzzledBanana2207 wrote, “I always burst into laughter when baby-head Camilo yells ‘MIIIIRABELLLLL.‘” Others chimed in that Camilo’s ability to transform into himself as a baby was hilarious.

Antonio’s Toucan Left Mirabel When She Needed It

When Antonio was receiving his gift, a toucan flew up to him and stared him in the eyes. After a few seconds, Antonio revealed that he could understand what the toucan was saying, which turned out to be his power.

Later in the episode, Mirabel goes on a mission to Bruno’s room inside Casita to find a clue as to why Casita was cracking. Antonio’s toucan showed up and appeared to be Mirabel’s partner in crime. Shortly after, however, the toucan flew away. ParchmentAndPencils wrote their favorite line was “But at least I’ll have a friend…nope he flew away immediately,” while Waifuu_Material noted they laughed when Mirabel screamed, “Quitter!

The Telenovela Description

As soon as Mirabel found out Bruno was living inside Casita’s walls as a way to stay close to family, Encanto fans demanded justice for Bruno. It wasn’t his fault that he was given psychic abilities and that most of his visions had dark connotations to them.

Bruno told Mirabel that he passed the time behind the walls by hanging out with his rodent friends. He said the mice performed entertaining telenovelas for him. Vedel-Chivers told Reddit, “Bruno explaining the plot of his telenovela to Mirabel” was the funniest moment for them. The fake storyline Bruno gave of the telenovela was so on-point that it was hard not to laugh.

Pepa And Her Rainbow

Some funny moments are so subtle that they happen in the background of all the noise. One Redditor wrote that their favorite moment was “Pepa saying ‘I made a rainbow!‘” Fans can spot the moment right after Mirabel sings “Family Madrigal” and the scene is about to switch. Luisa asks where to drop the wagon and Pepa happily shows off the rainbow she made.

Pepa and her ability to change the weather is just one aspect of Encanto that fans wished they showed more of in-depth.

The Stubborn Capybara

If there’s one small character detail who went unnoticed or unappreciated, it was Antonio’s capybara. As soon as Antonio was able to speak to animals, animals were hanging around Casita. And while he was mainly seen riding his jaguar, the capybara wasn’t far behind.

The Capybara just chillin’ while Bruno has a vision” was -S-O-M-13-‘s funniest part of the movie. In the scene, Bruno prepared for his vision and a bright green light was omitted to show him and Mirabel what they needed to know. Meanwhile, the capybara was hilariously unfazed just watching it all happen around him.

Bruno’s Easter Egg

Before Mirabel knew where Bruno was, she asked her family members for more information on him. The popular Encanto musical number, “We Don’t Talk About Bruno” broke out, with each family member noting something they heard about Bruno.

In the one scene, Dolores and Mirabel were dancing to the beat and Bruno could actually be seen in the background on the second level of the house. His shadow is seen bopping up and down as if he liked the song they were singing about him. LuriemIronim wrote that “Bruno bobbing his head along to Dolores’ song” was the funniest part for them.

Drinks For All!

After Antonio receives his gift, he’s introduced to his new room inside Casita. The room expanded into a magical jungle that would now be where he slept and relaxed. The colors and animals inside Antonio’s room inspired Encanto fans to create artwork.

The family and town celebrated Antonio in his new room, which is when ExpendableEmployee noted a funny part that caught them off-guard. When Mirabel saw cracks within Casita and alerted Alama, she startled the party. “‘The magic is strong! And so are the drinks!’ I just like how Abuela is implying that Mirabel must be drunk,” the Redditor joked.

Camilo Using His Shapeshifting For Food

After Antonio’s big night, Mirabel wondered why she was the only one to notice Casita’s cracks and why no one else was worried about it.

She waltzed up to Dolores to talk about the unusual situation and asked her if she had heard anything that could be the reason for Casita’s deterioration. However, Dolores never responded to Mirabel; she just continued piling food on her plate. Koya_Beans wrote the funniest part was when Félix walked by and said “Camilo, stop pretending you’re Dolores so you can have seconds,” proving that Mirabel wasn’t talking to Dolores. She was talking to Camilo who shapeshifted into Dolores!

Vamo!

On the night Antonio received his gift, he was a little nervous and hid in the nursery until Mirabel gave him the courage to face his fears.

When his parents and siblings found him after hiding all day, they encouraged him to have a nice time and complimented him. As a shapeshifter and one of Encanto‘s more likable characters, Camilo transformed into his dad Félix and repeated his dad’s words, “Okay, okay, okay, vamo, vamo vamo,” before leaving. CinnamonRollWatson wrote, “The ‘ok vamo, vamo, vamo,’ part always gets me,” and most of Reddit agreed.

Avocado?!

In one scene, Dolores heard that Mirabel ventured into Bruno’s room and took one of his visions. Mirabel knew that Dolores had loose lips and was going to say something at dinner, so Mirabel was in a staredown with her to make sure she didn’t say anything to anyone.

But suddenly, Mariano shoved a bowl of avocados in Mirabel’s face, giving Dolores enough time to spill the news. BattyThrowaway11 said, “I just love Mirabel and Dolores having this stare-off, and then Mariano passes her the avocado and everything just starts going to hell.” Shortly after this, everyone finds out about Mirabel’s secret and the night goes awry.
