Screen Rant unveils the first look at the Disney Channel’s upcoming animated series The Ghost and Molly McGee. Created by Bill Motz and Bob Roth, the series follows the adventures of an unlikely duo: Bright and optimistic Molly (Ashly Burch) and grumpy ghost Scratch (Dana Snyder), who only finds joy in spreading misery to others. As a result of one of Scratch’s spells backfiring, the two become bound to each other forever. The Ghost and Molly McGee is expected to premiere on the Disney Channel in 2021.

During this year’s virtual New York Comic-Con, The Ghost and Molly McGee held its own panel and shared a few exciting reveals. Creators Motz and Roth were present, along with Burch, Snyder, and executive producer Steve Loter. Firstly, Rob Cantor, best known for the viral video “Shia LaBeouf” Live, has joined the series as its official songwriter. Loter spoke about the role of music within The Ghost and Molly McGee, explaining, “Music is a key feature in the show. Every 11-minute episode has at least one ‘song burst,’ a song sequence that lasts one minute or less that encapsulates, pushes forward and focuses on the theme of each story.”

Beyond that, fans got a first look at The Ghost and Molly McGee‘s title sequence, which was written by Motz, Roth, Allie Feder (Frozen 2), and Mike Kramer (Lego Star Wars: The Freemaker Adventures). Snyder and Burch perform the theme song, and their vocal talents are also on display in the first look clip that was revealed during the panel. Check them out below.
