Tickets for Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness go on sale next week. The upcoming film centered on Doctor Strange (Benedict Cumberbatch) not only acts as a sequel to his first film but will continue storylines set by WandaVision, Loki, and Spider-Man: No Way Home. After being delayed multiple times due to a change in director and the COVID-19 pandemic, the film is only a month away from release and will kick-start the summer movie season.

Marvel Studios has been building the anticipation for the film in a short amount of time, with the first look at the film coming in December as the post-credits scene of Spider-Man: No Way Home. A second trailer officially dropped in February with a highly publicized Super Bowl spot that featured the voice of Patrick Stewart, who is almost certainly reprising his role as Professor X from the Fox X-Men movies. Marvel even appears to be holding off on the trailer for Thor: Love and Thunder to keep all eyes on Doctor Strange.

Now audiences know to mark their calendar for when they can purchase their tickets. Marvel Studios has unveiled that the tickets for Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness will go on sale on April 6, 2022. This will be one month from the film’s theatrical release date of May 6, 2022, with preview screenings starting the night prior. The announcement was made with a short video which can be seen below:

It will be interesting to see how in-demand the tickets are when they first go on sale. The first Doctor Strange was a hit and grossed $85.1 million in its opening weekend. However, the sequel is building on the character’s increased popularity from appearances in Thor: Ragnarok, Avengers: Infinity War, Avengers: Endgame, and Spider-Man: No Way Home, which will massively boost the sequel’s box office chances. The tickets for Spider-Man: No Way Home caused multiple sites to crash when they went on sale and given how interconnected the two films are, it is safe to say there will be a lot of audience anticipation for it.

The tickets for Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness are set for April 6, 2022, which may also indicate when the first trailer for Thor: Love and Thunder will drop. Marvel Studios will want a trailer out to go in front of the upcoming Doctor Strange sequel, so a trailer for the next Thor movie could arrive a week after the Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness tickets go on sale to spread out the hype, with all eyes on one film each week. Combine that with Moon Knight airing four of its six episodes in April and it appears the month will be a very good one for the MCU.
