Ubisoft’s Assassin’s Creed Valhalla offers players a tantalizing array of romanceable characters. Though the Vikings of Eivor’s world may not have the most modern morals, they do have a concept of adultery. So what happens if Eivor sleeps with multiple people in Assassin’s Creed Valhalla’s story?

For three games now, the Assassin’s Creed franchise has been modeling itself after Western RPGs. It’s a natural fit given that the series has always been, essentially, open world fantasy action games that were only a few role-playing mechanics away from being proper RPGs. Of course, every Western RPG worth their salt (and salty words) needs a fleshed-out romance system, and Assassin’s Creed Valhalla delivers with a host of hotties to hook up with. However, players are naturally left to wonder whether all these dalliances will have consequences.

The majority of romanceable NPCs in Assassin’s Creed Valhalla are bit characters. They do not have meaningful ties to major quest lines nor do they show up much after they have been bedded. There are a few exceptions, such as romanceable NPCs who serve as quest givers or even play a role in the main quest. Still, for the most part, romances in Assassin’s Creed Valhalla are fun diversions with no serious consequences.

How Adultery Plays Out With Randvi

Randvi is the greatest exception. In Assassin’s Creed Valhalla, all story trails lead to Sigurd. This is ultimately a tale of two siblings, so players’ choice in Assassin’s Creed Valhalla to sleep with Sigurd’s wife Randvi can actually affect which ending players receive. Fairly early in the story, Randvi professes her love to Eivor, who can either hastily sleep with her, tell her the timing is wrong, or let her down easy. If Sigurd finds out about the affair, he will be less likely accompany Eivor in the “good ending.” So while it is technically Randvi doing the adultery, this indiscretion can actually have a massive impact on Assassin’s Creed Valhalla’s story.

As for adultery against Randvi as opposed to with her, Eivor’s flings escape Randvi’s attention. For instance, sleeping with the Frankish noble Estrid at the end of the Essexe quest line will not affect Eivor’s relationship with Randvi. There are also a few characters, like Petra the hunter, who are also looking for something a little more serious. Eivor can only explicitly date one character at a time, so getting with one of these characters is a real commitment – though breakups are possible.

Assassin’s Creed Valhalla presents some tough choices, but its romances are mostly passing diversions. As a general rule, one-time flings do not impact relationships. However, players should keep in mind that Sigurd may not be so understanding.
