Wireless charging is now an expected feature for any flagship smartphone, and with the latest Galaxy S22 series, this is something Samsung is aware of. Our expectations of smartphones change with every passing year. Not that long ago, a high-end phone was one with a dual-core processor, HD display, and one really good camera. Today, shoppers expect their flagship handsets to have octa-core processors, Quad HD displays with 120Hz refresh rates, and between three and four cameras.

In regards to Samsung’s Galaxy S22 lineup, it made sure to check as many of these boxes as possible. Every Galaxy S22 model is equipped with a Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 processor, a 120Hz AMOLED screen, and some of the best cameras ever used on a Samsung phone. Paired with good battery life and four years of major Android updates, the S22 is one of the best smartphones available in 2022.

But how does the Galaxy S22 fare when it comes to wireless charging? Thankfully, very well. All three models of the S22 come with Qi wireless charging support. This includes the Galaxy S22, Galaxy S22+, and Galaxy S22 Ultra. No matter which version someone buys, you can rest assured that each phone does have wireless charging. Some users may not see wireless charging as a must-have feature, but it is a very convenient one to have. Wireless charging pads/stands are easy to use, there’s no need to mess with pesky cables, and they often refuel phones at decent speeds.

These Are The Galaxy S22’s Wireless Charging Speeds

Having wireless charging on the Galaxy S22 is great. But what kind of charging speeds is it capable of? The S22, S22+, and S22 Ultra all support up to 15W speeds when wirelessly charged. That’s considerably slower than the 25W wired charging on the S22 and 45W wired charging on the S22+ and S22 Ultra. It’s important to note that this is fairly common with most phones. Wireless charging is more convenient than wired charging, but that convenience comes at the cost of slower charging speeds.

On top of that, all three models of the Galaxy S22 also support Wireless PowerShare. This is the feature that allows S22 owners to use their phone as a wireless charger to charge accessories and other phones. To enable Wireless PowerShare, open the Settings app on the Galaxy S22 and tap ‘Battery and device care.’ Tap ‘Battery,’ tap ‘Wireless power sharing,’ and tap the toggle to turn it on. Now, placing another device on the back of the S22 will allow it to refuel like it would on any other wireless charging pad. This works best with smaller gadgets like earbuds and Samsung smartwatches, but it can also be used to charge another smartphone if you’re in a pinch.
