The remastered version of Doom 64s campaign still has the same gore-filled charm as the original, but with a little bit of a twist: the new port includes six “lost levels”. Like the first three games in the series, Doom, Doom II: Hell on Earth, and Final Doom, Doom 64 has 32 levels but was intended to have six bonus levels that were removed due to cartridge capacity limitations.

The six bonus levels have been included as a second campaign available after beating the main campaign or the secret level Hectic in the Doom 64 port. After the events of the main Doom campaign, the protagonist has been brought back to Earth and must fight his way back to Hell. Complete with hidden secrets, scour five of these six levels to find armor bonuses and energy cells.

Doom 64 Lost Levels

Map 34: Plant Ops

The first bonus level has three secrets. Go through the teleporter to the left at the start of the map, go down the stairs to the right to a side room containing security armor. Use the panel behind the armor to access armor bonuses.

To reach the second secret, go through the blue door, turn left, and open the wall behind a lamp in a corner. This will give you access to more armor bonuses.

For the third secret, enter the room with the yellow key. Look right. A wall with blood in front of it can be opened to reveal a hallway. Go down it to get a soulsphere.

Map 35: Evil Sacrifice

For the first secret in the Evil Sacrifice map, press the switch to the left of the stairs to activate the pedestal holding the super shotgun across the map, near the pillars. Walk over the pedestal to activate the ledge with the armor, and run back to collect it before it moves back up.

The second secret is through the yellow door. Across from the yellow door is an elevator that leads to another pedestal switch. To the right of it, you can see another switch through a window next to an inverted cross. Shoot it to open the door below and to the left of it. After entering, take a right to find mega armor and energy cells.

Evil Sacrifice’s third secret is in a courtyard with a red key. Go through the yellow door to enter. To the left is a pillar with a BFG 9000 at the top. Go up the stairs and shoot the switch revealed on the wall. This lowers the BFG 9000 on top of the pillar.

Map 36: Cold Grounds

The Cold Grounds map only has one secret. Turn right after reaching the yellow switch to see a soulsphere. When you reach the middle floor in the center of the map, cross the floor to press a switch. This opens a wall on the right, containing a medikit, Hell Knight, and rockets. Take the teleporter to  the left of the rockets to the soulsphere you saw earlier.

Map 37: Wretched Vats

The Wretched Vats map contains four secrets. The wall to the right of the demon face in the room with the red key can be opened to receive rockets, energy cells, and a plasma gun.

For the second secret, shoot the switch on one of the four columns in the room behind the red door. This will reveal a chainsaw.

The third secret will be near some bars between passages. In the courtyard with the blue key, go to the switch that revealed the key and go left. Outside, go to the bars blocking passages and open the wall to the right to access mega armor.

For the final secret in The Cold Grounds map, enter the room with the yellow key. There is a wall with chains on it to the right of the doors. Open this wall to access a soulsphere.

Map 38: Thy Glory

For the first secret in the Thy Glory map, you must go up the stairs outside the yellow door. On the staircase, there is a flashing panel on the right. Activate it to open a wall at the bottom of the staircase and access a soulsphere.

In the room with the yellow key, you will find the second secret. Activate the pedestal with impaled gore on it. This will open the door on the right, which contains a switch. Shoot it to open a wall next to the pedestal with some energy cells and mega armor.

To the right of the second secret is a door. Go through it and open the wall to the left to find energy cells, shotgun shells, a Hell Knight, and a computer area map.

The fourth secret is accessible by extending the bridge in the room with the rocket launcher on a star-shaped platform. Find a switch at the bottom of a column in the blood on the right side of the bridge, and use it to lower the column and use it as an elevator. Hit the switch at the top to activate the next column and continue until you reach the final column and obtain the berserk pack.

The final secret can be found after crossing the stepping stone bridge. Activate the skull on the right-hand wall to access energy cells and rockets.
