The Doom 64 remastered port for Windows, Nintendo Switch, PlayStation, and Xbox One was released in March 2020. The game retained much of its charm, fixing some lighting issues from the original and adding seven never before played levels.

The original game was intended to have seven extra levels, deviating from the usual 32 levels in the rest of the games in the Doom franchise. The Lost Levels were intended to be a second short campaign available for those who completed the main campaign, or who finished the secret level Hectic.
