Is it time for Doubling Down with the Derricostimes two yet? TLC’s newest large family, the Derricos from Las Vegas, became a huge hit with reality TV fans. It could have been Karen and Deon’s family, or the show’s wholesome content, or the miraculous multiple multiples, but the show ticked many boxes for viewers. Now that Doubling Down with the Derricos season 1 has ended, leaving fans feeling like they were a part of the Derrico family, viewers want to know if the Derricos will double down with their seasons as well. The good news is that Karen confirmed that Doubling Down with the Derricos will return for season 2.

SCREENRANT VIDEO OF THE DAY

If there’s one thing that reality TV fans want from their favorite shows, it’s drama. When it comes to drama, double is always better. However, Doubling Down with the Derricos season 1 featured a family of 16 that laughed, cried, and danced together, without fights or arguments, and fans loved it. Dealing with the loss of newborn triplet Carter and preparing to birth another set wasn’t an easy task for Karen, 40, and Deon, 49. Add to that the fact that they also had to care for 11 other children ranging in age from 1 to 14. Two singletons, two pairs of twins, and quintuplets all living together under one roof may sound wild, but Karen and Deon soon added three more babies to the mix. Karen and Deon’s views on parenting, money management, and coping with stress are what won over the many fans of Doubling Down with the Derricos, as well as the well-behaved kids. However, sadness doubled for Karen and Deon when a triplet (baby Dawsyn) was born with a hole in her heart. Two surgeries, flu, pneumonia, and COVID-19 later, Dawsyn survives, hale and hearty… and ready for a brand new season.

Thank you for all your prayers. Awesome Dawsyn is still so very awesome. Love you always from Dawsyn, De’Aren, and Dyver,” wrote the stay-at-home mom of 14 on her Instagram. Karen Derrico cheekily signed off with, “Until next season. Xoxo.” It does appear that TLC has approved Doubling Down with the Derricos season 2, although fans are still waiting for an official announcement from the network.

The season finale of Doubling Down with the Derricos showed baby Dawsyn coming home after getting cured of the coronavirus. As reported earlier off-screen, there was news of Dawysn from DDWTD having passed away. Father Deon put those rumors to rest by confirming that the infant was perfectly fine. Soon enough, Karen posted a picture to Instagram of her year-old triplets, Dawsyn, De’Aren, and Dyver, letting fans know that they were all doing well. While Dawsyn was the one hospitalized, the rest of the Derrico family, including grandma Gigi, had tested positive for COVID-19, but recovered quickly as well.  Concerned fans were glad to know that the Doubling Down with the Derricos brood was fine, and mommy Karen Derrico’s cute caption left them feeling doubly overjoyed.

It can be assumed that the show picks up from where it left off, with Dawysn having survived her year-long struggle with the love and prayers from her sweetest siblings. But considering that Doubling Down with the Derricos is still a reality TV show, fans shouldn’t be surprised to see Karen and Deon expecting more multiples when season 2 finally delivers.
