The second official trailer for Peacock’s upcoming crime drama miniseries, Dr. Death, gives a closer look at the different sides of Joshua Jackson’s Dr. Christopher Duntsch. The NBCUniversal streaming service has a range of series’ coming this year, but their miniseries Dr. Death is arguably one of the most intriguing. Based on the terrifying real-life events documented in Wondery’s incredibly successful Dr. Death podcast, the miniseries tells the story of Dr. Duntsch, a rising surgeon whose neurosurgery is targeted after his patients leave maimed or dead after routine surgeries. Last month, Peacock released a chilling first trailer for Dr. Death introducing Dr. Duntsch’s deadly malpractices. Now, the streaming service has dropped a new trailer.

SCREENRANT VIDEO OF THE DAY

Peacock has released the second trailer for Dr. Death, and it continues to provide the eerie feeling created in the first trailer. After making a Ted Bundy reference in the previous trailer, this new trailer highlights the devious ways of Dr. Duntsch, who is labeled as “charming” and “handsome” by a female character, before we see bloody shots from his operating room. Perhaps the most unsettling line comes at the end when a lady says: “I leave myself in God’s and Dr. Duntsch’s hands.” The trailer also reveals that all 8 episodes will be available to stream on July 15. The full trailer can be seen below:

Although it’s a shorter trailer, it does an excellent job building intrigue for the surreal story by providing flashes of Dr. Duntsch’s surprisingly normal personal life while also showcasing more of his sadistic ways, which is highlighted by the line: “If you come for me, you better be ready for what I’m going to do to you.” As well as showing more of Jackson’s performance, one that appears to be a captivating one, it highlights the rest of its impressive cast including Alec Baldwin and AnnaSophia Robb. Fans will be hoping the Jennifer Morrison, Maggie Kiley, and So Yong Kim helmed show can live up to the promise created in this excellent trailer, but with a July 15 release, fans won’t have to wait too long for Dr. Death.
