After his reveal in December 2020, Dragon Ball FighterZ’s final FighterZ Pass 3 character, Gogeta (SS4), has a release date. Arc System Works’s fighting game has added numerous bonus characters with several FighterZ Passes since its release in 2018. With the addition of Gogeta (SS4), the roster now rests at a full 41 characters. However, no information regarding another FigherZ Pass is available as of this writing.

This Gogeta, not to be confused with SSB Gogeta, is from the non-canonical Dragon Ball GT. In GT, Super Saiyan 4 Gogeta was born when SS4 Goku and Vegeta fused to take on Omega Shenron. In the show, Gogeta (SS4) completely wiped the floor with Omega Shenron, who at the time was the greatest threat the Z-Fighters had ever faced. Gogeta (SS4) is considered, barring Dragon Ball Heroes, the strongest non-canonical character in Dragon Ball.

SCREENRANT VIDEO OF THE DAY

Bandai Namco’s YouTube channel posted a new gameplay trailer showcasing the new fighter’s move set, Gogeta (SS4) will release March 10th for FighterZ Pass 3 holders and on March 12 worldwide. Before the release date was shown on screen, one of the most anticipated fan fights in the series was put on full display, SSB Gogeta vs. Gogeta (SS4). Seeing the canon and non-canonical versions of the strongest fighter in the universe face-off have been a wish of fans since Dragon Ball Super: Broly. Both fighters have unique intros with each other and an explosive new dramatic finish. The trailer is available for viewing below.

FighterZ has become one of the most popular fighting games ever made, thanks in much part to its tremendously deep arsenal of fighters and enormous fan base. Although this is the third FighterZ Pass, it may not be the end just yet. There are still dozens of characters to choose from that have not made the roster just yet. Many from the original Dragon Ball and Dragon Ball Z series are still missing. While it made the most sense to add new characters from the Dragon Ball Super series, fans still are waiting on other fan-favorite characters like Super Buu or Pikkon.

However, this DLC could be the last for Dragon Ball FighterZ. The game is three years old, and Bandai-Namco could develop a sequel and hold off on adding any new characters until it releases. But it is hard to imagine stopping development when other games like Mortal Kombat 11 and Super Smash Bros. Ultimate are still adding new characters to their rosters.

Dragon Ball FighterZ is available for PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X and S, Switch, and PC.
