As Dragon Ball Super comes to a close, Goku will achieve a new transformation. Goku’s Ultra Instinct form will finally be mastered in an upcoming episode of the anime series, giving Goku’s hair a silver tint. This “complete” version of Ultra Instinct is being called Goku’s ultimate form.

As the protagonist of the Dragon Ball franchise, Goku has undergone a number of changes over the years beginning in the Frieza Saga when he transformed into the golden-haired Super Saiyan after the death of his best friend, Krillin. Though Goku’s power continued to grow, he didn’t achieve another major transformation until he unleashed his Super Saiyan 3 form against Majin Buu. Goku reached Super Saiyan 4 in Dragon Ball GT, though his form seemed to be removed from canon with the movie Dragon Ball Z: Battle of the Gods, which led to the launch of Dragon Ball Super. In his fight with Beerus, Goku attained the power of a Super Saiyan God, and later pushed it to the next level with Super Saiyan Blue, followed by Ultra Instinct during the Tournament of Power.

In the latest issue of the Japanese magazine V-Jump, it was revealed that Goku will get a new look to go along with his completed version of Ultra Instinct. The look was designed by Dragon Ball creator Akira Toriyama. Art of the new form shows Goku with silver hair, which is a big shift from what we’ve seen so far of Ultra Instinct. When Goku first achieved Ultra Instinct in his battle with Jiren, his hair remained black but his eyes turned silver. One of the most important things to know about Ultra Instinct is that it’s one transformation that’s not exclusive to Saiyans.

According to V-Jump, the perfected Ultra Instinct form of Goku will also be coming to Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2 as part of the Extra Pack 2 DLC. The article also previews some of the character’s moves such as “Flying Fist” and “Attack Dodge”.

It was indicated in previous episodes of Super that Goku had yet to master Ultra Instinct. Goku was able to efficiently utilize the defensive aspects of the form, which allows him to effortlessly dodge attacks. Fans expect that once Goku can master Ultra Instinct, he’ll have access to its offensive capabilities as well.

Fans can look forward to a dramatic battle between Universe 11’s Jiren and Goku as the two face off in the remaining episodes of the series. Following Android 17’s sacrifice and Vegeta’s defeat, Goku will need every bit of his power to defeat Jiren and save the universe. It remains to be seen if Goku will use the Ultra Instinct form in the next Dragon Ball movie.
