Before Meghan Markle was Her Royal Highness the Duchess of Sussex, she was an actress and one of the beautiful models on Deal or No Deal. Now that she’s become part of the royal family, Markle’s gameshow briefcase is up for auction – and just in time for Christmas.

Markle was building her career in show business as a TV actress on Suits and a model for Deal or No Deal, when she began her relationship with Prince Harry, Duke of Sussex, back in June 2016. She was set up on a blind date by a mutual friend and the two immediately hit it off. Their engagement was announced on November 27th, 2017 and announced that she would retire from acting and became a British citizen. She and Harry were married on May 19th, 2018 at Windsor Castle. Markle became a mother on May 6th, 2019, when she gave birth to seventh in line to the throne, Archie Mountbatten-Windsor.

Deal or No Deal ran from 2005 all the way to 2016, though Markle was only there as a model from 2006 to 2007, her briefcase number from the NBC game show series is up for auction. According to People, the #24 briefcase that Markle held on the popular game show series is being auctioned by Profiles in History’s Hollywood: A Collector’s Ransom auction. The prop is listed as #783 on the auction list. The briefcase that belonged to Markle before she became Duchess is expected to be sold for between $4,000 to $6,000.

The 16″ x 12″ x 2″ briefcase is constructed of lightweight, deep-drawn aluminum with chrome handles and hardware and is in “fine condition” according to the listing. Not only was the briefcase used by the Duchess, but it also has a bit of history as President Donald Trump was a guest during the show’s first season when that same #24 briefcase was on display. There are also many Hollywood relics that are up for auction as well, including Spider-Man’s costume from the 1970’s animated series, a window display figure of Ernie from Sesame Street, and even Elizabeth Taylor’s gown used in the 1954 film Beau Brummell.

Deal or No Deal collectors, royal family enthusiasts, and history buffs alike will be betting on this auction. Though Deal or No Deal is currently off the air, the show will always be a crucial step in Markle’s success. This one of a kind #24 briefcase seems like this is a perfect gift for a die-hard Markle fan and collector this holiday season.
