Former Duck Dynasty star Sadie Robertson Huff is clapping back at a fan who accused her of showing off her postpartum body and bragging about her quick bounce back. Sadie first began appearing on TV when her family signed on to document their lives in 2012. Although she wasn’t the focal point of the show, Sadie’s popularity grew exponentially. She began to dip her toe into the acting world, appearing in movies such as No Good Deed and I’m Not Ashamed, and competed on Dancing With the Stars, coming in second place. She has also become a successful author and speaker, having launched her Live Original Tour in 2016, both of which preach Christian values. Her book and its sequel reached the New York Times Bestsellers list, and her tour reached 45 cities.

Not only has Sadie found success in business, but she has also found success in her personal life. In November 2019, Sadie married her husband, Christian Huff, after a quick five-month engagement. Sadie wore two different dresses on her big day, one for the ceremony and another for the reception. Her journey to finding the perfect dresses was featured on TLC’s Say Yes to the Dress. Their wedding was anything but small and intimate, with around 600 guests in attendance, including her famous friends Candace Cameron Bure and Alfonso Ribeiro. After nearly two years of marriage, the couple welcomed their first child, daughter Honey James Huff, on May 11, 2021. Sadie announced her birth on Instagram, claiming she couldn’t be happier, and called the whole experience a collection of miracles.

Sadie is now clapping back at a fan who accused her of bragging to her followers about how quickly she was able to bounce back post-birth. According to E! News, Sadie received a DM from a fan claiming she and her daughters unfollowed the star because of the unrealistic body standards she is setting. Sadie shared this experience in a lengthy Instagram post, in which she shared a current picture of her wearing a pair of jeans and another of her wearing those jeans when she was one month pregnant. She says she thought about answering the DM and telling this fan how her postpartum journey has not been easy. She opened up, saying there are parts of her body that are still healing and that her body is covered in bumps to this day due to how stressful her labor was. She also claimed she saw a counselor to help her navigate postpartum life. She said she thought about telling the woman all of this in a DM but decided not to.

The Duck Dynasty star went on to explain why she doesn’t feel the need to post the negative aspects of her life, especially her postpartum experience. She claimed her worth is not defined by what her body looks like, and she would rather focus on the good things her body was able to do this past year. In regards to being accused of bragging, she said that was not her intention. In her eyes, the past year of her life was not about how her body was changing but about how she was growing as a person and learning to love in a deeper way, which is what she hopes people see when they look at her body. She thinks those things are more important than whether or not her clothes fit her. Sadie ended the post by encouraging her followers to find confidence within themselves, based on their character and not based off of what they see someone posting on social media.

Although she explained her reasons for wanting to keep the more negative aspects of her life private, could there be a chance of her starting to share more? There is a bigger demand on social media for authenticity and relatability, so is it time Sadie showed more of every part of her life? There is no right or wrong way to share one’s life on social media. However, fans love when celebrities share the good, the bad, the ugly and everything in between. Sadie has always been a positive ray of sunshine, even when on Duck Dynasty as a kid, so it is possible this is just her actual authentic self. It will be interesting to see if there is a shift in what she shares with fans from now on, though.
