DWTS: Daniella Karagach’s Nationality, Age, Husband, Dance History & More

Daniella Karagach is one of the newest professional dancers to join season 29 of Dancing With the Stars. She is currently paired with rapper Nelly. But what do we know about Daniella outside of her time on the competition show?

Before she starred as a professional in the reality competition series, Daniella was a troupe member in season 28 alongside Keo Motsepe. Fans must have loved her moves, as she was bumped up to a full-time professional dancer for season 29. She and Nelly have done so well during their time on the show that it’s almost a certainty Daniella will be coming back next season with another celebrity partner.

Daniella was born in Brooklyn, New York to immigrant parents who divorced a year after her birth (via Dancing With the Stars Fandom). Her parents moved to the United States from the country of Moldova. Daniella is of Latin descent and American nationality, according to Gossip Gist. She grew up in the neighborhoods of New York, but moved to Staten Island when she was older. She was raised primarily by her mother for most of her life, but the duo was joined by a stepsister and stepfather after her mother remarried. At the age of three, Daniella began to take ballet lessons, and by age seven was taking Latin dance classes. At age eleven, she began to study ballroom dancesport. Despite being diagnosed with ADHD, the 27 year old excelled in school due to her love of dancing, as it has allowed her to focus better overall, according to Hollywood Life.

Since Daniella was young, she has competed in several dance competitions, both by herself and alongside her husband and fellow DWTS pro, Pasha Pashkov. The couple has been dancing together since 2009 and has won the United States 10-Dance Champions and Latin Champions together. Since dancing together, the couple has been asked to represent the USA in several international dance competitions. By 2012, Daniella and Pasha became the US national Latin champions. Not only have they won and competed in many dance competitions, but the couple has even appeared on World of Dance together for season two. They made it all the way to the Qualifiers, but sadly were eliminated during the Duels round.

Daniella and Pasha started dating shortly after they began competing together in 2010. They then tied the knot in 2014 in a beautiful ceremony in New York at the Crystal Plaza, which can be seen on Daniella’s Instagram page.
