DWTS: Julianne Hough Being Considered As Next Bachelorette

With the current ratings for The Bachelorette at an all-time low, ABC is considering bringing in a big-name lead, such as Dancing With the Stars professional dancer and former judge Julianne Hough, to bring success back to the show. Julianne is allegedly being considered as the next Bachelorette. ABC is considering veering away from casting a lead from a prior season of the franchise in an effort to ramp up viewership again.

Bachelor Nation originally had high hopes for Katie Thurston’s season of The Bachelorette. In fact, when she was part of Matt James’ season of The Bachelor, fans were petitioning for ABC to cast her as the next Bachelorette. They admired her bravery and confidence in standing up to the other ladies for what she believed was right. While fans got their wish of Katie being cast as the lead, many were quickly let down by the lack of entertainment the season has brought so far.

The current season of The Bachelorette has been experiencing an all-time low in viewership and ratings, so ABC is considering making some changes to the show in the near future. According to OK!, Dancing With the Stars professional dancer and former judge, Julianne Hough, is being considered as the lead for an upcoming season of The Bachelorette. Since Michelle Young, who was also part of Matt James’ season, is already set to be the next Bachelorette for the upcoming fall season, Julianne would be next in line. An insider claims, “Now that Julianne won’t be returning to Dancing With the Stars this fall, they think people would love to see her somewhere else on the network.”

Julianne, who is 32 years old, recently got out of a three-year marriage. Last November, the dancing pro filed for a divorce from her then-husband and former hockey pro, Brooks Laich, 38. Following her divorce, Julianne was supposedly “romantically linked” to the actor Ben Barnes, who is 39 years old. Now, as Julianne is once again single, many agree this could be an awesome opportunity for both her and the network. Not only that, but the insider claimed Julianne would be open to the offer as well. They said she “would no doubt be excited by the prospect.” They continued on to exclaim that Julianne “would definitely add some spice to the show.”

Although her love life has been quite messy over the last year, Julianne is “single and ready to mingle.” She is not afraid to get back out on the dating scene. Perhaps taking a shot at being the Bachelorette would be good for Julianne. As her brother and fellow professional dancer Derek Hough heads back to the ballroom to judge another season of Dancing With the Stars, Julianne may be hanging up her dancing shoes for a while to find love. As of writing, Julianne has not spoken on the recent rumors.

The Bachelorette airs Mondays at 8 pm ET on ABC.
