Rachael Kirkconnell is sharing her thoughts and reaction to her boyfriend Matt James’ shocking elimination from Dancing With the Stars last week. Rachael and Matt first met during Matt’s season of The Bachelor last winter. The two had an instant connection, but due to the drama they faced amid the conclusion of the season, they took a break from their relationship for quite some time. They later rekindled their love and have been together ever since.

Both Rachael and much of Bachelor Nation were excited for Matt as he joined the cast of Dancing With The Stars for the show’s milestone 30th season. Unfortunately, during last week’s two-part Disney Night, Matt and his pro partner Lindsay Arnold were eliminated from the competition. The second night of Disney week featured a double elimination, resulting in Matt and Lindsay, as well as Sharna Burgess and Brian Austin Green, being eliminated from the dancing competition. Viewers at home were not only shocked to see Matt and Lindsay in the final two, but they were also that they were ultimately the couple sent home.

The next day, Matt’s girlfriend Rachael shared her reaction to his unexpected elimination on Instagram. Following the conclusion of Tuesday night’s episode, Rachael flew home on what was originally intended to be just a weeklong trip. She anticipated returning to Los Angeles in time for Matt’s next live performance. Rachael admitted she was feeling extremely “bummed” following Matt’s shocking and confusing elimination. She explained to her followers, “I thought I was going to be back in a week. Now there’s just, like, no reason to be.”

Rachael continued to share her love and praise for both Matt and Lindsay. She started off by saying, “I just want to say that Matt and Lindsay, they just did so incredible.” Rachael loved being able to be inside the ballroom every week to watch the dancing duo perform. She raved, “I’m happy that I could be there to see them do their thing and I love them both so much.” Obviously, Rachael, like many fans, wanted to keep watching Matt and Lindsay perform week after week. However, that will not be the case. She concluded the video by admitting she believes Matt and Lindsay “deserved better.” Now that they are no longer in the competition, Matt has been rooting for Kenya Moore and Brandon Armstrong.

The remaining couples have spent the past week preparing for yet another live show full of brand new dances. This week, the couples’ performances will highlight hit songs from the movie Grease. Following the live show, yet another couple will be eliminated from the dancing competition.
