Writer/director Edgar Wright celebrates Hot Fuzz‘s 15th anniversary with a funny video remix of some of the film’s memorable and NSFW moments. The buddy action comedy revolves around Nicholas Angel, an overachieving police officer in London’s Metropolitan Police Service who is transferred to a sleepy West Country village by his resentful colleagues. Upon arrival, Angel is promoted to Sergeant and partnered with affable and movie-loving constable Danny Butterman and finds the town is not as peaceful as it seems as it is rocked by a serious of mysterious and gruesome deaths seemingly set up as accidents.

Simon Pegg, who co-wrote the film with Wright, and Nick Frost lead the cast of Hot Fuzz alongside Timothy Dalton, Jim Broadbent, Olivia Colman, Paddy Considine, Rafe Spall, Bill Nighy, Bill Bailey and David Bradley. Hitting theaters in 2007, the second installment in Wright, Frost and Pegg’s Three Flavours Cornetto trilogy was a smash success, receiving rave reviews for its performances, direction and humor and grossing over $80 million against its estimated $16 million budget. As the film approaches its 15th anniversary, those behind Hot Fuzz are taking a look back in unique fashion.

In honor of the film hitting theaters nearly two decades ago, Edgar Wright took to Twitter to celebrate Hot Fuzz‘s 15th anniversary. The writer/director, who also wished co-writer/star Simon Pegg a happy birthday, shared a funny video from musician Mike Relm that mixes some of the film’s most memorable and NSFW moments to a slick beat. Hot Fuzz marked a pivotal chapter in the careers of those involved in the film, namely Pegg, Frost and Wright. While their first cinematic effort, Shaun of the Dead, was similarly a critical and commercial hit, it was the buddy action-comedy that would propel them into the international spotlight, nearly tripling the box office haul of the zombie comedy and leading to the filmmaker getting at the helm of Scott Pilgrim vs. the World. Pegg was also subsequently enjoying a transition to Hollywood filmmaking as he made his Mission: Impossible franchise debut with the third installment in the franchise and subsequently appearing in J.J. Abrams’ Star Trek reboot as ship engineer Scotty.

Even after 15 years of rewatches and other collaborations amongst the trio, Hot Fuzz continues to appear on a number of critics and fans’ lists of their favorite Wright, Pegg and Frost projects. As the trio have moved on to other projects, audiences are currently holding out hope for them to come back together, with the Three Flavours Cornetto co-writer/star recently teasing that he and Wright are discussing a possible new project to reunite for. While fans await word on what comes next for the three, audiences can celebrate HotFuzz‘s 15th anniversary with the film streaming on Cinemax Go now.
