Even though there are less than two months down in the year 2022, FromSoftware’s newest title Elden Ring is already shaping up to be one of the biggest releases of the year. The action RPG releases on February 25 and is acknowledged by many, including some of its developers, as a spiritual successor to the widely-known Dark Souls series. With the addition of a vast open world, the inclusion of a mount for the player to utilize both in and out of combat, and several new mechanics such as checkpoints in more challenging areas and the addition of a day-night cycle, there is a lot of speculation from players about some of the Souls series features present in Elden Ring.

But before players can hope to step foot into The Lands Between, they first have a big decision to make. Retailers have often used the bigger title releases as a way to try to funnel gamers through their doors with the use of exclusive bonus items or in-game DLC only obtainable through purchasing from their outlets. With Elden Ring set to be an early contender for Game of the Year, it too has received the same treatment, with retailers across the US offering several different exclusives for players to grab alongside the game (though they’re all physical collectibles). Director Hidetaka Miyazaki has already promised that Elden Ring will be less stressful than previous games, and gamers will want the preorder process to be similarly stress-free.

Gamers preordering Elden Ring from US retail giant Walmart can expect to get their hands on three 5″ x 7″ exclusive art cards with their purchase. Gamestop shoppers can also expect a bonus, with all physical copies shipping with an exclusive Spectral Steed Whistle replica in the shape of a ring – an item players will get in the game itself – which also appears to come with a small drawstring bag for safekeeping. Finally, gamers purchasing from Best Buy will get their copy alongside an exclusive Elden Ring SteelBook case featuring artwork from the game, which is available for all customers, even if purchasing digital versions of the game. One fan offered to buy copies of Elden Ring for a few lucky players unable to afford it, though it’s unlikely they’ll end up with these preorder bonuses, which could sell out fast.

Fans Who Want Elden Ring Preorder Bonuses Should Act Quickly

With many of FromSoftware’s fanbase eagerly awaiting the release date, the addition of these Elden Ring preorder bonuses will give some a tough choice to make. It is worth noting that all of the bonuses listed are subject to availability, and stocks may run out if the game proves to be even more popular than anticipated. There are no guarantees that there will be enough for everybody. It’s also important to mention that these Elden Ring preorder bonuses are in addition to the standard bonuses that already come with all preorders of the game, and are also unrelated to the bonuses available with different Elden Ring special editions.

With not long to go before the game releases, anyone interested in getting their hands on these bonuses will have to move fast. Given the popularity of previous FromSoftware games, Elden Ring’s natural evolution of many of the Souls series’ mechanics, and the world-building experience of Game of Thrones author George R.R. Martin, it seems likely that Elden Ring will be another successful entry for the Japanese developer. Dark Souls, Bloodborne, and Sekiro all have dedicated fanbases the world over, and this looks like it will be no exception to the trend, with the final Elden Ring overview trailer released on February 19 getting just under 800k views in 48 hours.

Elden Ring comes to PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S on February 25.
