Elden Ring is already a target for scalpers, as the Network Test Codes are currently being auctioned off for hundreds of dollars online. The Elden Ring Closed Network Test was announced in October, with fans encouraged to sign up for a chance to take part. However, now that the codes for the Closed Network Test have been sent out, many fans are left disappointed that they weren’t chosen.

Elden Ring is already set to be one of 2022’s biggest releases. The enthusiasm for FromSoftware’s next release has been palpable since it was first announced, to the point that Elden Ring even won an award for Most Anticipated Game all the way back in 2020. After its first announcement, however, fans were left with little to no information on the game. Rather, Elden Ring ‘leaks’ began making the rounds online, with no one knowing what to believe. Thankfully, more news has been officially revealed ahead of Elden Ring’s 2022 release date. Most recently, fans were treated to brand new gameplay footage for the fantasy epic, that included talking pots, ferocious dragons, and jaw-dropping vistas.

Soon, those that have been lucky enough to be selected for the Elden Ring Closed Network Test will be able to experience even more from the Tarnished and The Lands Between. For those not fortunate enough to have been selected through this official draw, however, there is currently the option to purchase codes from eBay (via ComicBook). But while this is surely something that will be very enticing for FromSoftware fans, it won’t be a cheap option. Starting bids on several of the codes are over $200 USD, with some even topping the $300 USD mark.

The registration page for the Elden Ring Closed Network Test has revealed that those taking part will be able to join in with five different gaming sessions, each lasting for three hours. The official Elden Ring Twitter account has also revealed five character classes since the gameplay announcement earlier in November. Each of these will be playable during the Closed Network Test, making even the prospect of shelling out hundreds of dollars quite an appealing one for many.

Thankfully for those who have been unable to obtain a code for the Elden Ring Closed Network Test, be it via lottery selection or through online bidding, there is not too much longer to wait until the game is released. Despite being delayed from its original January launch date into February 2022, the promise of such a grand scale fantasy epic from the makers of Dark Souls and Bloodborne will surely be worth the wait.

Elden Ring will be available for PS5, Xbox Series X/S, PS4, Xbox One, and PC on February 25, 2022.
