The Eclipse Shotel is a Legendary Curved Sword in Elden Ring that deals both Physical and Holy Damage and can inflict the Death status effect on foes with its weapon art, Death Flare. Costing 16 FP to activate, Death Flare engulfs the scythe blade in a black and yellow flame, causing each slash to build up Death Blight. If the skill is activated twice, the Eclipse Shotel’s wielder will perform a downward slash in Elden Ring that triggers an explosion.

To properly equip the Eclipse Shotel in Elden Ring, Tarnished adventurers must meet the stat requirements of Strength 10, Dexterity 25, and Faith 30. The weapon’s unique skill and attack moves can be effective against particular enemies, such as humanoid mobs. However, the Eclipse Shotel’s capability shines brightest in PvP combat. No matter how much HP an opponent has, inflicting max Death Blight will result in Instant Death, an effect in which the legendary curved sword excels. In other words, landing several slashes while Death Flare is active is bound to put an Invader or opposing Host into their grave fairly quickly.

SCREENRANT VIDEO OF THE DAY

The location of the Eclipse Shotel is the Church of the Eclipse, a small chapel within the walls of Castle Sol. This fortress sits near a Walking Mausoleum at the northernmost point of the Mountaintops of the Giants’ eastern half. To reach this region and the legendary weapon’s location, Tarnished travelers must defeat Godfrey’s Golden Shade and King Morgott in Leyndell to be given the Rold Medallion from Melina. This medallion will allow the player to access the Mountaintops of the Giants at the Grand Lift of Rold.

Eclipse Shotel Location In Elden Ring

After reaching the Freezing Lake Site of Grace, head up the nearby slope and westward towards the Snow Valley Ruins Overlook. Be cautious of the Tibia Mariner and go down into the northern valley where Castle Sol is built. Rest at the Site of Grace near the main gate and enter inside. Two Lion Guardians will be guarding the inner bailey but can be bypassed by rushing up the wooden platform in the back. Running north, head into the tower ahead, watching out for the two patrolling Wolves in Elden Ring and a Bladed Talon Eagle ambush.

On the second level, Tarnished adventurers will encounter several Spectral Castle Guards. However, the primary threat will be a Spectral Banished Knight guarding the entrance to the Church of the Eclipse. This enemy cannot be avoided, so it’s recommended players either defeat the knight or rush past and immediately active the Site of Grace in the chapel left of the entrance. Once the mob hostility has been resolved, head to the back of the small church to obtain the Eclipse Shotel in Elden Ring.

Elden Ring is available on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and PC.
