Charlie Sheen and Entourage creator Doug Ellin are teaming up for the all-new dramedy series, Ramble On. Perhaps most notably known for his starring role on Two and a Half Men, Sheen is no stranger to the screen with his recurring role on Spin City and the lead spot in FX’s Anger Management. Similarly, the legendary actor’s work on the silver screen is equally impressive, starring in feature films such as 1987’s Wall Street and anchoring the Major League film franchise. Ellin, most prominently known for creating and writing Entourage, racked up a slew of awards for the show, including three Emmy nominations for a comedy series.

While Sheen enjoyed a successful acting career for years, he has largely remained out of the spotlight as of late. Sheen’s last movie in a starring role came in 2017 in the critically panned 9/11 but his 1983 film Grizzly II: Revenge was finally released in 2020 after being filmed nearly 40 years prior. Since then, the actor has only had small roles in a few TV shows and music videos. However, Sheen appears to be making a small comeback.

As reported by Deadline, Sheen and Entourage creator Ellin are teaming up for Ramble On, an all-new dramedy series set in Hollywood. The show will primarily follow Sheen and Entourage stars Kevin Connolly and Kevin Dillon, who represent themselves in a quest to reinvent their voices. Along the way, newbies on a journey to establish their own voice join in on the hunt. The new production company founded by Ted Foxman and Ellin, Angry Lunch, produces the show and recently wrapped the pilot episode. According to Ellin, this idea has been bouncing around his head for a while. See his exact comments below:

This idea has been spinning in my head for years and seeing it come to life is incredible. I feel beyond grateful that so many of my Entourage crew and cast members, along with some of the most talented, comedic forces in the industry, have joined us on this exciting new journey. We cannot wait to share this with the world.

For now, producers of the show are relatively unsure about where it will ultimately wind up regarding distribution. However, talks are reportedly taking place to find a suitable buyer for the series. In the case of not striking a deal, producers of the show noted that they would look to alternative avenues of distribution. For now, Angry Lunch is handling all financing on the project. Emmanuelle Chriqui will make a special guest appearance as will Sheen’s father, Martin Sheen. Rounding out the cast is Kimiko Glenn, Bre-Z, John C. McGinley, Jamie-Lynn Sigler, Zulay Henao, Mark Cuban, James Hiroyuki Liao, Harvey Guillén, Ana Ortiz, Sara Sanderson, Mikaela Hoover, and Adam Waheed.

With Sheen returning to television alongside Ellin, hilarity is likely to ensue on the screen. With the combined success of Ellin’s Entourage and Sheen’s ever-expanding list of credits, it is hard to imagine this project would sink or not get picked up by a network. Of course, there is always Sheen’s off-screen life to consider, but even that appears to be well on the mend. All-in-all, fans of all involved can begin getting geared up for a good time as soon as Ramble On continues on its trek for screens everywhere.
