Eternals: 10 Marvel Gods The MCU Has Teased

The Marvel Cinematic Universe has already introduced a variety of deities from the comics, from the Asgardians to cosmic entities like Ego, The Grandmaster, and The Collector. The MCU is also gearing up to bring in a new roster of gods known as the Eternals. They are some of the most powerful beings in existence!

With Loki taking things a step further with the debut of Multiversal Deities like The Time-Keepers, the MCU really isn’t holding back when it comes to its roster of gods. Of course, they have also teased the introduction of many other powerful entities from the comics throughout their previous films. Many of these could feasibly turn up in a future installment of the ongoing superhero saga.

10 Ares

It’s quite shocking that the Greek Pantheon of gods hasn’t been brought to screen already, considering the popularity of the likes of Athena and Hercules in the comics. However, Thor: Ragnarok did give fans a little glimpse of the cinematic iteration of Ares, the God of War.

On the planet of Sakaar, Thor is brought into a combat arena. A huge structure had been erected there which celebrated some of the tournament’s previous champions. Amongst those statues were Man-Thing, Beta Ray Bill, and the mighty warrior Ares himself!

9 Uatu The Watcher

Guardians Of The Galaxy: Vol. 2 introduced fans to the idea that Stan Lee was actually an informant to the immortal beings known as The Watchers. They are important cosmic guardians that are never allowed to interfere with the reality that they observe.

Fans did not get to see the most vital Watcher of them all, Uatu. Marvel’s What If? on Disney+ will allow audiences to see the iconic Uatu for the first time, with actor Jeffrey Wright providing both the voice and some of the likeness of the animated character. This could mean he will also appear in live-action down the line.

8 Death

In the source material, the Mad Titan is obsessed with pleasing Death. Falling in love with the grim entity, he killed to earn her love and affection.

In the MCU it was even said that to challenge Earth was to court Death, an idea that seemed to make Thanos very happy. While this didn’t actually come to pass, the tease suggests Death could still turn up at some stage, perhaps with a defeated Thanos in tow. Of course, the MCU also has Hela, another lord of the underworld.

7 Khonshu

Marvel is looking at adapting Moon Knight to the small screen with a Disney+ show currently in development. Comic book fans will know that the origin story of the street-level hero sees Marc Spector get imbued with the gifts of the Ancient Egyptian God, Khonshu.

The character is vital to Moon Knight’s narrative and as such may likely appear in future MCU films. The bird-like being is very much representative of Spector’s heroic alter ego.

6 Kly’Bn

Marvel’s Secret Invasion series is currently in development starring Nick Fury and the Skrull known as Talos. Directly based on a comic book arc, one of the most important features of the story (besides the secretive sleeper agents) is the Skrull god known as Kly’Bn.

An extremely powerful being and the head of the Skrull Pantheon, the alien species carry out their attack on Earth in their God’s name. Religion is very important to the Skrulls and Kly’Bn could have an important part to play in the MCU; he has already been teased by the existence of the Skrull society.

5 Knull

The Marvel Cinematic Universe’s relationship with the Sony Spider-Verse is currently quite complex. After the trailer for Morbius as well as speculation as to the plot of No Way Home, it appears that the world of Venom could be colliding with that of Peter Parker.

Anyone following the comics will know that Marvel is heavily focused on the King In Black storyline currently. The Venom franchise has thus far avoided the Symbiote God Knull, but with the scale of these films increasing it seems like it could be a good fit. If Spider-Man and Venom do crossover then their greatest threat could be Knull.

4 Dracula

Vampires have been a major monster in the Marvel Universe. The MCU appears to be quickly approaching the blood drinkers, considering they are developing Blade and linking to the Vampire Morbius. What’s more, the King and God of Vampires Dracula, has a minor role to play in Moon Knight’s story as well.

The immortal beast is one of pop culture’s most well-known and enduring characters. In the Marvel Universe, he is portrayed as even more powerful than he is traditionally shown to be. With human mythology and folk tales getting further exploration with the likes of the Black Knight, Dracula should absolutely be on that list, besides some of Marvel’s cosmic gods.

3 The Mighty Thor

Thor Odinson has become the most important Deity on screen, but he is soon to pass the mantle on to someone new. In the comics, Thor becomes known as Odinson, as Jane Foster instead picks up the hammer and wields it in battle as The Mighty Thor.

A god in her own right, the MCU’s Jane Foster will also get a chance to lift Mjolnir in Thor: Love And Thunder meaning a brand new character will be added to Asgard’s Pantheon. It’s an exciting time for fans of the character after the comic book run was some of the most critically well-received material of recent years.

2 The Living Tribunal

Doctor Strange explained the concept of magical artifacts to audiences. Amongst these were some incredibly powerful objects, some of which were clearly connected to larger cosmic creations. One of the artifacts mentioned during Stephen Strange’s training was the Staff of the Living Tribunal.

Marvel Comics has portrayed The Living Tribunal to be one of the most endlessly powerful beings in the whole of the Omniverse. The concept of the character is difficult to describe as its completely beyond human understanding. With the introduction of The Time-Keepers, The Living Tribunal could be next up.

1 Mephisto

It’s currently the buzzword for Marvel’s Disney+ shows but Mephisto has seemingly been teased in almost every project thus far. There were numerous signs of the demonic being in WandaVision, although he never appeared in the flesh, debunking fan theories.

Loki has displayed an intriguing devil portrait which once again fuelled Mephisto rumors, yet this seems even more unlikely than a WandaVision appearance. With the reality of the MCU getting explored in greater detail, Hell will probably be introduced eventually and could see Mephisto taking on magical characters like The Scarlet Witch and Doctor Strange; perhaps in The Multiverse Of Madness.
