Everspace 2: Where to Find the Disruptor in Ceto Outer Rim

One of the first missions players will need to complete in Everspace 2 tasks them with finding and repairing three Distractors, devices that were meant to help hide the protagonist’s base. Everspace 2 is an indie looter-shooter RPG that takes players on a fast-paced space adventure. After escaping the Outlaw base at the start of a new game, the player character and their cellmate and companion Dax Bashar will need to stay hidden and avoid recapture. Following the second main mission, From Scratch, they will receive the quest Edge of the Universe. They will be alerted that three of the signal Distractors Dax set up to hide his base, also called bean bags or Disruptors, no longer work and that they will need to go fix each one.

Players can find these Distractors in Rhodia Orbit, Union Bridge, and Ceto Outer Rim. The Ceto Outer Rim Distractor can be difficult to find if players don’t know exactly where to look. While the other two locations come with a waypoint, there is nothing to guide players to the Disruptor’s location at Ceto Outer Rim. Once players reach it, they will need to clear out an infestation to get the device working properly again. Here’s how to find the Disruptor at Ceto Outer Rim in Everspace 2.

To find the Ceto Outer Rim Distractor, players will want to start at the Flying Dutchman station. Since there is no waypoint, this is the simplest way to ensure a player finds the right spot.

Once at the station, players should look up and to the left to find a shipwreck and a large asteroid. They will want to head to the asteroid, which houses the Distractor.

The player will need to clear an infestation of alien hydra plants that has taken over the Distractor’s antennae. This can be accomplished by simply shooting at the plant. Once this is done, players will just need to fly close enough and follow the button prompts to activate the Distractor. From there, players can continue on to find the Union Bridge and Rhodia Orbit Distractors, but it may be a good idea to finish exploring the asteroid field and shipwreck first.

Players can locate and unlock a few doors to access locked containers of loot. Because it will still be early in the game, it is likely players will want all the loot they can get to upgrade their gear and ship. Anything they don’t use can be sold for credits, broken down for parts, or, in some cases, added to the ship for a stat boost. Players can also visit McClure’s Odds and Ends, where they can pick up their first challenge as well as find a few Aetheum Crystals, which are needed to complete the mission and move to the next. Players may also need to fight off a few enemy Outlaw turrets and drones, especially if they attack a minefield to the right of the shipwreck. Most importantly, there is an escape pod in the asteroid field that players can interact with to unlock a new mission.
