Every African Country Where 90 Day Fiancé Cast Members Come From

The 90 Day Fiancé franchise has introduced cast members from multiple continents, including many singles from Africa who are looking to marry people from the United States. The past eight years of franchise content has featured cast members from nine different African countries so far. Singles who come from Africa must frequently undergo an even more strenuous process when it comes to obtaining K-1 fiance visas to marry their American partners. Multiple cast members from African countries, including Kenya and Ethiopia, experience longer waiting times when it comes to hearing back about their U.S. visas. This can seriously impact franchise relationships and put a strain on the international romances featured in the TLC franchise.

There are a number of countries that multiple 90 Day Fiancé franchise cast members hail from. Africa has 54 countries in total, but many cast members come from Tunisia, Nigeria, and South Africa. Additionally, a range of franchise celebs from South America have come from Brazil and Colombia. The extended franchise also features plenty of singles from the Philippines, Ukraine, and Russia. South Africa

South Africa has produced three cast members in the 90 Day Fiancé franchise. Amy Frismuth, Syngin Colchester, and Ronald Smith all come from the country in Africa that is the largest producer of macadamia nuts in the world. Amy, who comes from Cape Town, married American Danny Frismuth on season 2 after she met him during an Australia bible study trip. She still lives in the US with Danny and their three children.

Syngin, from 90 Day Fiancé season 7, also hails from Cape Town. Syngin and his wife Tania Maduro separated on 90 Day: The Single Life, which makes his future in the United States uncertain. Meanwhile, 90 Day Fiancé: Before the 90 Days cast member Ronald memorably never joined his wife Tiffany Franco Smith in the U.S. After having doubts about her now ex-husband, Tiffany was shown wavering about filing his paperwork. That means that Ronald is currently unable to see his kids with Tiffany.

Tunisia

Three 90 Day Fiancé cast members have also come from Tunisia to start new lives in the United States. Zied Hakimi, Mohamed Jbali, and Moknii Hamza all come from the North African country. Zied and Mohamed both hail from Tunis, but both men are currently living in the US. Season 7 star Zied from 90DF remains happily married to older American Rebecca Parrott and now works at a furniture store.

Mohamed was able to stay in the U.S. to work as a trucker after his divorce from Danielle Mullins, even though she repeatedly threatened to deport him. Meanwhile, Before the 90 Days viewers are waiting to hear whether or not Hamza currently lives in the US with his wife Memphis and their baby, as the couple is rumored to have already broken up after filming season 5.

Nigeria

Nigeria has also produced three franchise cast members. Olulowo Shodipe, Michael Ilesanmi, and Usman Umar, who all come from the most populated African country. Olulowo was revealed to come from Lagos, Nigeria, despite lying to Narkyia Lathan about where he lived. He currently resides in the United States with Narkyia and their daughter.

After waiting for his U.S. visa for two years, 90DF‘s Michael appears to finally be joining Angela Deem in America, even though their relationship status is uncertain. Like Olulowo, Michael is also from Lagos. Lastly, Usman appears to still be living in Nigeria since his divorce from Lisa Hamme did not result in him moving to the U.S. However, Usman might end up in America in the future if he is still with Kimberly Menzies or the mysterious Zara.

Morocco

Azan Tefou became infamous on 90 Day Fiancé seasons 4 and 5, due to his relationship with Nicole Nafziger. The American mother was memorably very upset when Moroccan man Azan told her he couldn’t engage in PDA due to his conservative culture. As many franchise fans are aware, Nicole and Azan split before marriage. Azan appears to still be single and living in Agadir, Morocco.

Ethiopia

Biniyam Shibre from 90 Day Fiancé: The Other Way is the first cast member to come from Ethiopia. Biniyam and his American partner Ariela Weinberg faced many issues when she decided to take their son Aviel back to the U.S for surgery, as Biniyam feared Ariela would take their son and never return. Biniyam’s first marriage memorably resulted in his wife returning to America with their son. However, Biniyam has now obtained his K-1 fiance visa to join Ariela in the U.S for 90 Day Fiancé season 8.

Algeria

Before the 90 Days also introduced Algerian man Daya when he dated American, Marta Maldonado. The couple aired a strange relationship after Daya messaged Marta on Facebook and they struck up a romance. Marta memorably was unable to visit Daya in Algeria after he didn’t deliver the appropriate paperwork. The 90 Day Fiancé couple did not end up together, which means that Daya is likely still living in Algeria.

Cameroon

90 Day Fiancé season 9 will feature cast members from several new countries, including Cameroon. Newcomer Kobe hails from Cameroon, although he was unfortunately separated from his partner Emily for two years due to the pandemic. Therefore, their romance might have suffered from the time apart.

Egypt

Mohamed is another season 9 newcomer to come from a new country. The young Egyptian man will experience major cultural differences when he pursues a potential marriage with older American mother, Yvette. Mohamed is shown in season previews to be much more conservative than Yvette, as Mohamed from 90DF is enraged that Yvette wears a bikini and isn’t conservative.

Kenya

Lastly, Before the 90 Days also aired a cast member from Kenya. Akinyi Obala left her home country of Kenya when she met American man, Benjamin Taylor. The couple is currently married and appears to be happily living together in the United States after their 90 Day Fiancéfranchise stint.
