Finding caves in Icarus is an essential part of exploration and material gathering, which players need to gain experience and upgrade their tools or weapons. Minerals such as Iron Ore and Coal can be found in caves, and players will need these to craft higher-tier building materials like Steel Ingots. Along with upgrading items, players will be able to increase their level in Icarus by mining for resources in caves.

By using a pickaxe to mine for resources and upgrade items, players will increase their survival chances in Icarus. There are many dangers throughout the world, including animals that will attack, such as wolves or bears, as well as the daunting task of maintaining enough Oxygen. Players will need to explore areas like caves to continuously collect resources and progress by unlocking blueprints and upgrading their available items.

Although caves in Icarus can be in various locations, there’s no guarantee they will spawn or whether they will be accessible when players go searching for them. Some caves can be in the mountains, while others may be underwater. Caves can potentially be completely open, hidden by a pile of rocks, or they may not appear at all. Investigating these caves will lead to higher chances of surviving in Icarus. Caves can be small or large and contain materials or lead to new, unexplored areas with some unique resources to find.

All Cave Locations in Icarus

The hidden caves can be identified by the noise that sounds when players hit the rocks blocking the entrance with a pickaxe. If the rocks start to break away, the cave is open, and players can break the wall to gain access. However, if the rocks don’t break apart and the clinking noise keeps sounding, the cave is locked in that prospect, and players won’t be able to get in. There are various cave locations, but it’s random if they are accessible or not. Caves can potentially be found in the following regions:

  • A3
  • B2, 3, 6, and 13
  • C2, 3, 4, 10, 12, 13, 14, and 15
