Every Device Disney+ Will Be Available On

At launch, Disney+ will be supported by multiple devices and platforms, with potentially more coming in the future. Disney offically joins the streaming wars with its service that offers well over 800 programs at launch. This includes an impressive number of 300 movie titles and 7,000 television episodes. These numbers are sure to go up in the coming months as more content is added.

Disney+ is packed with movies and shows from its own in-house properties – Pixar, Marvel Studios, Lucasfilm, and 20th Century Fox. However, there are quite a few missing movies from Disney+ that have some fans concerned. Regardless, several of the biggest movies from the company’s most important franchises are available at launch, but what is perhaps its biggest appeal to potential subscribers is its original content which can’t be viewed anywhere else. Disney+ will be the home of several new TV shows, many of which are set in the Star Wars and Marvel universes. It’s first major TV series is The Mandalorian, which takes place after the original trilogy.

As expected, Disney is trying to make sure its streaming service reaches as many people as possible, which is why it will be available in most global markets within two years. Disney has also worked out agreements with various companies to allow for access to Disney+ across a wide range of devices and platforms. Here are all the devices that support Disney+ at launch:

This means that Disney+ will be available on two of the three biggest gaming consoles, all major Apple and Android products, and more. It’s been said that subscribers can download content from Disney+ on up to 10 different devices as well. Furthermore, four of these devices will be able to stream Disney+ simultaneously.

What’s interesting is that it wasn’t until early November that Disney and Amazon struck a deal to have Disney+ available on Amazon Fire TV, which was reportedly due to a dispute between the two companies over ad revenue, according to WSJ. Among the video game platforms, however, the Nintendo Switch is the only notable absentee. But considering how long it took for Nintendo’s devices to get the same apps that Xbox and PlayStation have had, this development isn’t too surprising. Of course, these things could always change in the near future, as Disney will likely add support to as many devices/platforms as possible after Disney+ launches.
