The following is a list of every Jedi still alive at the time of The Book of Boba Fett. The Disney+ series The Book of Boba Fett appears to be focused on the criminal aspect of the Star Wars franchise, so it’s likely that Jedi won’t have a large part to play in the story. Regardless, with how much of Star Wars revolves around the Jedi, it’s still important to be able to keep track of their ever-shifting statuses.

Many Jedi managed to survive the purge of Order 66, and new Jedi were born in the aftermath of the event. Unfortunately, between the Empire hunting Jedi and Force-sensitive individuals down with their Inquisitors and people throwing themselves into various circumstances that cost them their lives, their numbers still thinned a great degree over the years. Luke Skywalker tried to start a new Jedi Order, but even that fell apart, and by the end of the sequel trilogy, Rey is seemingly the last remaining Jedi in the galaxy.

SCREENRANT VIDEO OF THE DAY

The Book of Boba Fett takes place in roughly 9 ABY, over twenty years before The Rise of Skywalker, however, and this is a list of every Jedi who should be alive at the time. Some Jedi on the list only appeared sparingly throughout the franchise, but if their final appearances had them staying alive, it would be safe to assume they’re still alive at the time of The Book of Boba Fett. The list is also strictly for Jedi in the current continuity, so any survivors in the Star Wars Legends canon don’t factor into this.

Luke Skywalker

The most obvious surviving Jedi is the original Star Wars hero, Luke Skywalker. Luke survived, and heavily contributed to, the fall of the Galactic Empire, and went on to reestablish the Jedi Order under his leadership. He briefly appeared in the season 2 finale of The Mandalorian to recruit Grogu into his new Jedi Order, and he would go on to live for another twenty-five years before dying at the end of The Last Jedi.

Leia Organa

While not as involved with the Jedi arts as her brother, Leia still had a strong connection with them. Leia was trained by Luke following the fall of the Empire, and while she didn’t complete her training due to visions of what it would mean for her son, Ben, she still became strong in the Force and was even given her own personal Lightsaber. Leia spent the years following Return of the Jedi working to establish and maintain the New Republic, and that’s likely what she’s doing at the time of both The Mandalorian and The Book of Boba Fett which, of course, would lead to her death in The Rise of Skywalker.

Ben Solo

With The Book of Boba Fett taking place in roughly 9 ABY, Ben Solo, who was born in 5 ABY, should be four years old right now. Ben wouldn’t formally begin his training until 15 ABY, but even before then, he was noted to showcase a deal of proficiency in the Force; a given, considering the history of powerful Force users in the Skywalker family. Of course, Ben wouldn’t stay a Jedi forever, as he would eventually fall to the Dark Side and become Kylo Ren for the majority of the sequel trilogy.

Ahsoka Tano

Originally introduced as Anakin’s Padawan in Star Wars: The Clone Wars, Ahsoka Tano has managed to survive many a brush with death. She narrowly avoided Order 66, survived a fight against Darth Vader in Star Wars Rebels thanks to time travel and lived through the rebellion to become a wandering Jedi, as shown in her appearance in season 2 of The Mandalorian, which took place shortly before the beginning of The Book of Boba Fett. While Ahsoka likely won’t show up there, she’s set to star in her own Disney+ show appropriately titled Ahsoka, which will continue her story in the Star Wars universe.

Grogu

Being the major focus of the show’s immediate predecessor The Mandalorian, Grogu, also known as The Child or “Baby Yoda,” is still alive. Technically, Grogu is a Jedi Youngling, both because of his age relative to his species and his status at the time of the purge of Order 66, but Grogu can still be counted as a Jedi. If nothing else, whatever training he receives from Luke’s new Jedi Order will go a long way towards making him an official Jedi.

Naq Med

Naq Med was a Jedi introduced in the young-adult novel Force Collector. Med left the Jedi Order sometime before the Clone Wars, and after a fight with the Grand Inquisitor, fled to a remote world to protect his family. Med eventually died in 30 ABY following a tearful meeting with his grandson Karr Nuq Sin, who’s pictured above: all of that took place a few years before The Force Awakens, meaning he was definitely alive at the time of The Book of Boba Fett, which takes place in roughly 9 ABY.

Ezra Bridger

Ezra Bridger’s status is technically less certain than some of the other Jedi on this list. Star Wars Rebels ended with Ezra having whale-like creatures called the purrgil drag himself and Grand Admiral Thrawn into hyperspace to save Lothal, and he hasn’t been seen since. However, The Mandalorian season 2 revealed that Ahsoka is looking for Thrawn, and since they disappeared together, it’s likely that she’s also looking for Ezra. Whatever Ezra’s current status is will likely be fully delved into during the upcoming Ahsoka show.

Quinlan Vos

Quinlan Vos is another Jedi whose status isn’t entirely certain in The Book of Boba Fett. It’s unknown what Vos was doing when Order 66 happened, so he very easily could have been killed, but supplementary material has hinted that he managed to survive somehow. Additionally, while it’s no longer canon, Vos did definitively survive Order 66 in Legends continuity. That could be carried over into the main continuity, and that, in turn, could mean that he’s alive at the current time.

Cal Kestis

Another living Jedi during The Book of Bobba Fett is Cal Kestis. Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order introduced a new Jedi named Cal Kestis. After spending five years in hiding, Cal embarked on a quest with his crew to find a Jedi Holocron that contained the location of Force-sensitive children in order to restart the Jedi Order. The game ends with the crew setting off on a new adventure, and while Cal hasn’t been seen or mentioned since, the fact that his story ended with him being alive is good enough reason to conclude that he’s still alive.

Cere Junda

Cere Junda is another character who made their debut in Fallen Order. Cere once severed her connection to the Force in order to protect herself from the power of the Dark Side, but by the end of the game, she reforges her connection and returns to being a Jedi. Just like Cal, Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order is currently her last appearance in the franchise, but since she was alive at the time, she may still be alive at the time of The Book of Boba Fett.

Ka-Moon Kholi, Oppo Rancisis, Coleman Kcaj, And Selrahc Eluos

Ka-Moon Kholi, Oppo Rancisis, Coleman Kcaj, and Selrahc Eluos are four minor Jedi who rarely appeared in the franchise, if at all. The four of them surviving Order 66 comes from an issue of the 2017 run of the Darth Vader comic when Vader and the Grand Inquisitor were going over a list of Jedi who were confirmed to be in hiding. The Jedi on that list were noted to be very good at staying hidden, so it’s possible that that could have been maintained all the way up to the time of The Book of Boba Fett.

Hennix, Tai, And Voe

Hennix, Tai, and Voe were three of Luke’s students in his new Jedi Order introduced in the comics. The three of them tracked down Ben Solo to avenge the destruction of their temple, only for them all to die fighting him. The three of them should be roughly the same age as Ben Solo, meaning that they should be alive at the time of The Book of Boba Fett.
